I know I’ve said this before but I do love New Year because it feels like a fresh start and I really enjoy writing a good New Years Resolutions list. I shared last year’s list on here with you and looking back at it now, I actually think I’ve done quite well although there are a few things that I didn’t achieve that I’ll be carrying over to next years list no doubt.
One of the resolutions that I didn’t achieve and never manage to (despite it being on the list every year) is to lose weight and become more active although we do eat healthier and get out and do more than we’ve ever done before.
I often think about joining a gym to help me but I just don’t know whether I’d like it or not and I worry about the money that I’d waste if I didn’t go often enough after paying for it as most gym contracts tie you in for a set period of time. Huge numbers of people sign up for a gym membership on January and apparently, the vast majority of these people never stick to it for more than three months. I really don’t want to be one of those people!
Which is why I think that it’s a great idea for gyms to offer free trials so you can at least get an idea of whether you’ll like it or not. LA Fitness for example offer a free 5 day trial so you can try before you buy 😉
You can sign up to the trial and then try the facilities and check out the atmosphere which would be important to me as I’d want it to be friendly and relaxed. If you like it, you can decide whether to sign up for longer or not which is much better than just blindly signing up after a quick tour.
So this year, when I write the same thing down on my list, I may actually do something about it….
