It’s the 10th Anniversary of the release of the film Mean Girls today!
Ten years ago I watched the film while Miss Frugal was just a baby and Master Frugal wasn’t even thought about.
Today, the film is 10 years old and Miss Frugal is 11 (going on 15). She’s getting ready to start senior school in September where she’ll no doubt face some, if not all of the teem traumas in the film.
She’s going to come across some mean girls (even meaner than some that she’s already encountered) and she’s going to learn that no matter how hard she tries, she can’t please everyone. She’s going to have to work hard to balance doing well at school with having fun with her friends. She’s going to fall out with friends and make friends again, she’s going to make new friends and hopefully stay in touch with (some of) her old friends.
And as for me, I’m going to have to learn to trust that I’ve taught her the difference between right and wrong and hope that I’ve done enough to prepare her for everything she’s about to experience!
Scary!
And for those of you who haven’t seen Mean Girls, this is where I got the title of this post from – it’s my favourite Mean Girls quote!
