Miss Frugal is ridiculously excited about our fast approaching trip to New York!
Even though we don’t go for another two weeks (12 sleeps if we’re being exact), she’s spent some time today packing her carry on bag for the plane journey. She’s been itching to pack it for a few weeks to be honest so there was no stopping her today when she saw me bringing one of the suitcases from the garage this morning.
I got her to take a photo of it all for you so you could see exactly what she considers to be her ‘essentials’ for a transatlantic flight. And just in case you’re interested, she’s pretty much an expert on this subject as she’s watched at least 20 different videos on YouTube in the last week….
She’ll be taking her iPad, fully loaded with books, games and movies to keep her occupied along with her headphones and a powerpack so she doesn’t run out of battery at 40,000 feet which would be awful apparently.
If she fancies a break from the iPad then she also has a puzzle book (nothing too taxing) to keep her occupied.
Next up she has her beauty essentials – a hairbrush, some hand cream, some lip balm, a pack of face wipes and some Elizabeth Arden 8 hour face cream that she managed to get her Granddad to buy her when she found it for £10 in TJ Hughes (it’s usually double that for the size she’s got). All of the videos she’s watched on YouTube have mentioned about skin drying out on long flights and I’m sure she’s convinced that without this little lot she’d get off the plane at the other end looking like a prune.
She has her sunglasses too because she’s sure it’s going to be sunny when we arrive. I’ve told her that New York in April is probably not going to be that sunny but she’s feeling optimistic that the sun will come out to greet us.
She’s packed some chewing gum too even though she knows that chewing drives me mad so it’s highly unlikely that she’s going to be having much of that!
Finally, there’s her purse which she’ll need if she wants to buy anything on board – she always falls for the glossy photos in the on-board catalogue and I never buy anything for her so this year she’s saved a little money just for the plane, just in case.
The contents of my bag look very different to this little lot!
