Do you talk about money with your family?Today, I want you to think about the conversations you do have with your partner and with your children and the impact that talking about money (or not talking about it) can have on your family finances. To me, there are two different types of conversations you should be having about money. The first is with your partner and they need to be more in-depth than the conversations you probably already have. Mr Frugal and I have never really discussed money in that much detail - we have a joint account and I oversee most aspects of our … [Read more...]
What my teenagers ate last week when I wasn’t there to cook for them….
Last week was a bit of an odd week as I was working a late shift at work during the week so I wasn't at home to cook. I also didn't write a proper meal plan (I know, I'm hanging my head in shame) because I was away in London at the weekend and felt very bleugh when I got home. Mr Frugal waited until I got home for his tea and was on lates himself 3 out of the 5 nights so the kids had to mainly fend for themselves which I would absolutely expect them to be able to do at their age (17 and 14). You probably know by now that we're joining in with #SecondHandSeptember this month. ;-) Last week I mentioned in our mini charity shop haul that we'd found a bargain 99p t-shirt and today, I've enlisted the help of Miss Frugal who's volunteered to show us all the different ways you can style the t-shirt so it's perfect for all occasions. The t-shirt she's using today is a H&M oversized black t-shirt which is the perfect length as it's just long enough to pass as a dress as well as be worn as a t-shirt. The best thing about it for me is that it cost just 99p from the sale rack … [Read more...]

We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons. ;-)This week’s post is a bit different as I’m going to tell you five FREE things that I … [Read more...]
Review: The One World Observatory….
The One World Observatory is the highest point in New York and despite having two teenagers (and me) who really aren't all that keen on heights, we decided to visit last time we went to New York. The One World Observatory is right at the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere - the One World Trade Center. One WTC is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex and even though I'm not exactly a building connoisseur, I think it's a beautiful building and I love the way it stands out in the New York skyline. It can be seen from all over Manhattan … [Read more...]
