A while ago now, I shared my first attempt at making soap with you. My lovely Honey and Oatmeal Soap was so lovely that I decided to have a go at making a coconut soap because as the weather gets warmer, coconut is definitely one of my favourite scents.I always thought that making your own soap was quite a long process and I'm petty sure that the traditional way involves something that requires gloves and a facemask which put me off having a go myself so I've never looked into it too much. But then I discovered something called 'Melt and Pour Soap Base' which is amazing and … [Read more...]
7 of the best plants to grow with kids….
Today I wanted to share with you some of the best plants to grow with kids!Gardening definitely isn't my passion but it is something that I've been enjoying more and more over the last year or so. I find it really fulfilling to watch something I've planted grow from scratch and then to be able to serve it for my family to eat and I have quite grand plans for my garden now that the kids no longer use the garden as a playground. As I learn about what grows well in what conditions and what's never going to flourish in our garden no matter what I do, I wish that I'd done more with the … [Read more...]
How I meal plan as a working Mum with NO time….
It's been a while since I shared my meal plan on here (or even on my meal planning blog for that matter) so I thought I'd share this week's plan with you and give you a bit of an update on a few changes we've had over the last few months. The last few months have been a bit chaotic with my new job as I've struggled a little bit to fit everything in that I usually do with the slightly longer working days that I have now. I've just about got things back under control now but I've had to change our routine a little bit to accommodate the fact that I'm getting home a bit later and … [Read more...]

Trust me, it was a good day!Seeing as we did more than we'd expected on day 2, we'd actually ticked just about everything off of our New York bucket list by this point so I decided to go with plan b for today which was to head to the American Museum of Natural History.I was convinced the kids would love it as it looked like so much fun in the Night at the Museum films so, despite their protests, I put my foot down and told them we were … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {1 March 2019}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, as always feel that I should say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons. ;-)How on earth is it March already? Honestly, so far this year has been one … [Read more...]
