If you're on a water meter then I guarantee you'll be able to reduce your water bill come down if you follow the steps below - and I feel like I can guarantee that because I did them and mine has reduced drastically. I genuinely thought we were doing OK with our water usage and that our bill was pretty much in the same ballpark as what everyone else paid. Until I got a letter saying my payments were going up that is! We were told that our monthly payments up to £46 which is made up of £42 a month that they thought we'd use each month going forward and £4 extra that we … [Read more...]
Is an Instant Pot worth the money?
I wanted an Instant Pot for a good year or so before I actually bought one but even though I kept adding it to my basket on Amazon, I always took it back out again as I really wasn't sure if the Instant Pot would be something I'd use regularly or whether it would end up gathering dust like my breadmaker is at the moment. I eventually bought one so today, I'm going to answer the question 'Is an Instant Pot worth the money?'First of all, let me tell you exactly what an Instant Pot is just in case you don't know - it's essentially an electric pressure cooker which speeds up cooking by … [Read more...]
My Weight Loss Journey – Week 5 {22 February 2019}….
Oh Dear! As far as Slimming World goes, 'oh dear' pretty much sums up my week as I was determined to enjoy my holiday in New York as much as possible so I rather generously gave myself a week off Slimming World.I've had an amazing week away with the kids though and although I know I could have made the effort and eaten much better than I actually did, I don't feel disappointed with myself in any way because I made a conscious decision to not stick to plan and to work extra hard when I got back to lose whatever I put on.When I stepped on the scales this … [Read more...]

We've really tried hard to stick to a pretty strict budget over the week and … [Read more...]

We've now been home from our amazing trip to New York for a few days now and I definitely have post-holiday blues right now so I thought today would be a good day to share our second day with you If you've had a chance to read my last post, you'll know was a holiday we booked pretty last minute so didn't get the chance to save as much spending money as we would have liked. Day two of our trip was the busiest by far as we did two days worth of things in just the one day. We decided to head to Dumbo in Brooklyn for our second day and rather than get an … [Read more...]
Five Days in New York on a budget – Day 1….
If you follow me over on Instagram then you'll know that right now, I'm in New York with the kids.I've mentioned a couple of times that I'm a bit of a strict budget and so many of you have messaged me to ask me what we're getting up to if I don't have much money to spend so I thought I'd share our days with you. Before I do though, for those of you who don't know, we booked this trip last minute after a few life dramas last year, we paid for it using money we'd saved for a boiler in our Emergency Fund (I know, not the cleverest thing to do) and we didn't really have much time to … [Read more...]
