Do you ever find yourself missing the days when you paid for something and it was yours. You didn’t need to upgrade it, replace it every 2 years or download a slew of extras. You just had it. It seems as though, in the era of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Spotify we have become accustomed to an economy based on a sharing of resources rather than ownership. While subscription services always seem like a great deal on the face of it, they have a nasty habit of accumulating and eating away at a household’s perfectly planned finances. Indeed, many of us may have subscribed to services which we … [Read more...]
Free Poster Maker: Reasons to be thankful….
I'm trying to find more uses for my free Christmas poster maker tool so today, I'm sharing a lovely idea for a poster to share all of the things in your life that you're thankful for. This year more than ever, I've come to realise that no matter what's going on in our lives, there is always something to be thankful for - I know that sometimes you just have to look a little harder for it but there's always something. Easier said than done I know but this is something that's got me through a difficult year so humour me for a few minutes. ;-)I used the poster maker to … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {16 November 2018}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, I do want to say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons - we're frugal so we can afford to do nice things together.1) I made a batch of my homemade orange peel cleaning … [Read more...]

Five (kind of) Frugal Things we did last week in Los Angeles {9 November 2018}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, in case you don't already know, I should say that when we originally booked our trip to LA we chose a mid-range hotel that was nowhere near as nice as the one we ended up in. We were upgraded after an issue with the hotel we booked led to us making a complaint and ultimately ended up in an amazing hotel in a much better location. The fact that we were … [Read more...]
How I pay for Christmas without spending any money….
I'm not someone who agrees with the whole 'Presence not Presents' ethos at Christmastime (but that's a whole other post so stay tuned for that in a couple of weeks) but equally, I don't want to spend a small fortune on the presents that I do buy. There are a few things I try to do throughout the year that help me to pay for some presents without actually having to spend any money so today, I thought I'd share a few of them with you...Swagbucks The first thing I do to save up for Christmas is to use the Swagbucks site throughout the year to accumulate Swagbucks which are kind of like … [Read more...]
