Well, I never expected September to turn out the way it did!It was such a dramatic month with Master Frugal's concussion/burst appendix situation so the goals I set for myself weren't as easy to achieve as I'd hoped so some of them might be making a return for October's goals.I shared my September Goals with you here if you want to have a read through of the full version but here's a quick summary along with how well I did... Five Frugal Things we did this week {28 September 2018}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, I do want to say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We've had lots going on over the last couple of weeks and I've had some lovely, lovely emails from you all which I will definitely reply to when I can but there just aren't enough hours in the day at the moment so I thought I'd just write a quick post to let you know how we're all getting on.So, most of your emails have been about Master Frugal and I'm pleased to report that he's doing great. He's still in a bit of pain and he has a pretty scary looking collection of scars on his tummy but he's on the mend and is in much better spirits than he was.Concussion/appendicitis … [Read more...]

I can't imagine what it must be like to not have enough money to feed my children and luckily, that's not something that I've ever had to worry about.Lots of families across the UK aren't that lucky though and it makes me sad to read that between the 1st April 2017 and the 31st March 2018, The Trussell Trust’s foodbank network distributed a massive 1,332,952 three day emergency food supplies to people in crisis across the UK which is a 13% increase on the previous year. That's just such a sad statistic - to think that in 2018 there are so many families who genuinely just can't afford to … [Read more...]
