I save all year round for the holidays that we have throughout the year so I want them to be perfect when we get there! Even so, I'm not sure I agree with the latest holiday 'extra' that you can now buy with some holidays!Over the last few years, tour operators and airlines have started to add sneaky little extras on to the cost of a holiday. It started with the option to pre-book seats together which on the face of it seems like an OK added extra but then some tour operators started to charge for meals on the flights as well as transfers between the airport and your hotel.Next … [Read more...]
Amazon Prime Benefits That You May Not Know Exist….
Until recently, I had no idea that there were so many benefits to being an Amazon Prime member so I thought I'd share a few of my favourite Amazon Prime benefits with you today.I originally bought Amazon Prime about 18 months ago when a couple of the Xbox games that Master Frugal had added to his Christmas wishlist were actually cheaper for Amazon Prime members. It was the first time I'd come across this difference in price and over the two games, it was just short of £20 difference. I'd been umming and aahing for a little while about signing up simply because of the free one-day … [Read more...]
Homemade Pizza breadsticks
Homemade pizza breadsticks are our new favourite food - they're easy to make and you wouldn't believe how amazing they taste. We've been having regular movie nights over the last month or so which is something we haven't done in a while as we could never agree on which film to watch. We've been watching some older movies that we wanted to see with the kids because we remembered enjoying them when we first watched them way back in the day - Air Force One, Speed and the Back to the Future Trilogy have been our most recent watches!A teenager's attention span is a bit limited so rather … [Read more...]
That was…. March!
How is it the last day of March already? At the end of last year, I decided that it would be a nice idea to do a post once a month giving you a bit of an update on our lives. I was looking forward to this month as we had so much planned but unfortunately it didn't really go according to plan.I'll get the nice news out of the way first....We started the month under attack from the #BeastfromtheEast which meant that the kids had four days off school and I had three days of working from home. Obviously, this was the best thing ever as far as they were concerned - or at least it … [Read more...]

Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life.1) This week I've started my Spring Clean and my house is smelling amazing! I've used my homemade cleaning spray for all surfaces around the house and Zoflora on my floors.Considering Zoflora is super cheap and my homemade cleaning spray costs about 10p for a big bottle to make, I'm so pleased with the results.I've also cleared out cupboards that have needed cleaning … [Read more...]
How I organise my freezer space….
I'm going to share with you how I organise my freezer space today as an organised freezer really does help me massively with meal planning! You might (or might not) know that I actually have three freezers at the moment - one is part of the fridge freezer, one we bought as an under counter freezer for the kitchen and the third is a big larder freezer which lives in our garage and was a gift from my Dad.Fridge Freezer - Top drawerThis drawer is mainly filled with healthy food that's perfect for me as I'm on Slimming World at the moment. I have a couple of ready meals to help … [Read more...]
