1) What do you do with your spare change?Mr Frugal empties out his wallet every night when he gets home from work and transfers his change (20p and below) into this vase on the kitchen windowsill. It's never going to make us rich but all those small coins add up to a reasonable amount over time. We usually change it in a Coinstar machine (I know 8p per pound charge but so much easier than counting it, bagging it and taking it into town) and use the amount towards our shopping. When we get home, if we remember, we'll then transfer that amount to our little savings … [Read more...]
95 Cheap Date Night (or day) Ideas….
Today seemed like a good day to re-share my list of date night ideas because, although I don't really 'do' Valentines Day as such, I do think it's important to spend some time with your partner as a couple. It's so easy to focus elsewhere and prioritise other things ahead of your relationship but just a little time together every now and again will do you wonders. Honest!{Updated for 2018 as I was just going to write a similar post when I realised I'd already written one that I could just add too}As much as I love my children and love being a parent, I think it's also really … [Read more...]
Healthy Oat Pancakes….
It's pancake day tomorrow so I thought I'd share my healthy oat pancakes with you just in case you fancy a healthy option tomorrow!Wherever possible, we keep Sunday aside as a family day where we spend some quality time together seeing as we seem to spend less and less time together during the week now that the kids are older and have different priorities (in no particular order: football, makeup, snapchat, friends and Fifa). We start the day together with a family breakfast although to be fair, we could call it brunch seeing as it's usually almost lunchtime by the time the kids … [Read more...]
How to set up canned responses in Gmail….
This post is all about how to set up canned responses in Gmail so it's probably only useful to about 10% of people who read this blog if I'm honest but I thought I'd share it anyway as the benefits for those people who do find it useful are HUGE in terms of timesaving and effort. As a blogger, I get a fair few emails every day which basically require very similar answers initially and at one point, just managing my email inbox was taking over most of my time online. It was starting to become unmanageable so I looked at ways that I could streamline the process of replying to the … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {9th February 2018}….
This week is an odd one because I'm sharing a few things that I've actually spent some money on - all for a good reason but still spending money rather than saving it....1) We have the fastest broadband package available to us in our area and for a family with two teenagers, a sometimes gamer (Mr Frugal, not me) and a blogger it's completely necessary! We have had a few issues lately though with poor Master Frugal and his xbox which always lagged (I'm told that's the down with the kids way of saying that it goes slow) when we were all online at once. We did some research and found a … [Read more...]
10 ways to use Zoflora that you might never thought of….
Today I'm sharing 10 ways to use Zoflora that you might have thought of(hopefully) and for those who don't know what Zoflora is, I'm pretty sure your mind is about to be blown! ;-)**This is not in any way a review or sponsored post by the way - I'm a reasonably new Zoflora user and I buy mine from B&M usually but it's available in all supermarkets and often in the pound shop and other discounted shops like Home Bargains**So, for those of you who are unfamiliar with the delights of Zoflora, this is the description of it taken straight from the Zoflora website: Zoflora is … [Read more...]
