The changeable weather at this time of year is definitely making meal planning a bit more challenging....The weather makes it difficult to know what to plan for tea at the moment! If I plan ahead for a roast dinner at the weekend, and then the sun comes out then everyone wants something lighter than a full on Sunday dinner because, let's face it, no-one fancies a big roast dinner while the sun's shining (or at least we don't).I've been quite vague with my meal planning lately to combat the changing weather that we're seeing at the moment. By vague I mean that I'll write a main … [Read more...]

If one of those things is to spend more time with your family then this is definitely the post for you as I'm sharing my list of 85 things to do with your family this year. This year, Miss Frugal will turn 16 and Master Frugal will hit 13 so to me, it's more important than ever that I spend as much time as I can having fun with the kids because I'm very aware that at some point soon, they're going to decide that it's not cool to spend time with their parents. ;-)I've been having a think of some things that we can do together at … [Read more...]
My 2018 word of the year….
I shared some word of the year ideas with you all earlier this week and today, I'm going to share what my word of the year is going to be for 2018 and explain a bit more about why I always choose a word to be my personal theme for the year.I know I say this every single New Year's Eve on here but I genuinely love New Year. I feel like it's a great time to take stock of my life and review what went well in the previous year and what I want to change going forward into the next year. For the last few years, I've chosen a word of the year on top of the usual New Year's resolutions and … [Read more...]

My Wanderlust update….

I've been reflecting on 2017 over the past few days so I thought I'd share a little update with you to see how we got on.If you're interested in know why we chose to spend a good proportion of our spare money on travel during 2017 then you can find out why here but the result of our decision was that we spent a lot of time hunting for bargains and saving money where we could to be able to afford to pay for our travel plans. It's not a decision we took lightly because … [Read more...]

We had Turkey sandwiches for lunch and some sliced gammon and egg for tea on boxing day and last night we had amazing leftover turkey and ham pie.It was so delicious that I thought I'd share it with you because it's an amazing way to use up any leftover meats you have and you could also add leftover veggies to it if you don't use them all up in the bubble and squeak for Christmas Day … [Read more...]
