1) I bought some cheap white clay from Amazon and have used my £6 pack to make everything from coasters to Christmas decorations!I shared the Christmas decorations on Wednesday and I'm planning to share a few of the other things I've made this month but in the meantime, I'm going to class my purchase of the white clay as my first fabulously frugal thing for this week. ;-)2) I've started my Christmas cupboard this week although, due to the fact my cupboards are jam-packed right now, my Christmas cupboard is actually a big box in the garage. As a rule, I don't generally over-shop … [Read more...]
Five gift ideas that won’t add to the clutter….
I've spent a lot of time de-cluttering and clearing out this year and I finally feel like I'm making progress! Honestly, for the first time since we moved into this house, I finally managed to clear enough space in the garage to set up a little photography studio - although I wasn't quick enough with ordering the lights I wanted and the kids took ownership of the space and claimed it as a gym!Anyway, the fact that I don't have my photography space isn't the point (not for the purposes of this post anyway), the point is that I've spent a lot of time this year de-cluttering and I'm … [Read more...]
What you need in your Frugal Cleaning Kit….
These days there's product upon product stacked on the supermarket shelves promising to give make your home sparkle and shine, but do you really need them?I definitely don't think you do although there are a few that I buy - Domestos bleach and Fairy Liquid are the two main ones that I can think of. Domestos because my Mam always used to say that the only bleach she would buy was Domestos and it's in my head now even though I know you can probably get cheaper bleach that's just as effective. I have tried a couple of times but always gone back to Domestos.Domestos because my Mam … [Read more...]

I know, I know, it's only just November but I couldn't wait to share our homemade shabby chic Christmas decorations with you!I'm quite fussy when it comes to what goes on my Christmas tree but these cute little shabby chic Christmas decorations will definitely be taking centre stage as I love them - they're much more me than the shiny glittery traditional style baubles that you normally see. The kids are all about the glitter so our main tree is quite traditional with lots of sparkle and big traditional decorations but I love these cute little shabby chic Christmas decorations that … [Read more...]

Travelling with teenagers is NOT easy! When we went to Milan in May, we had a lovely time but I can’t help but look back and remember some of the family arguments we had! For our recent trip to Monaco and Nice, I was determined to do things differently to make sure we had a more harmonious break!Milan was great and we did have an amazing time but there's not getting away from the fact that phrases like ‘She’s using my Wifi’, ‘He just looked at me’ and ‘Just do as you’re told’ don’t bring back the greatest memories as you can imagine.I shared my tips on how to travel with teens … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {27th October 2017}….
1) I've printed out a batch of my 'No Halloweeners here' sign for some friends who have young children that they don't want disturbing after a certain time. You can print one off for yourself if you'd like to here.I've seen that you can buy them in shops for a couple of pounds but it costs me pennies to print one off for them and it saves the stress of hoping that each knock isn't going to wake the kids up.2) I've made a batch of my homemade Halloween chocolate bark this week using a cheap pack of Halloween sweets that I got from the pound shop. I use value chocolate when I make … [Read more...]
