I've been busy this morning making pretty things (AKA some lovely Motivational Quote Wall Art) and as a thank you to all you lovely readers, I thought I'd share what I've been up to with you so you can have some pretty too.I got so many messages about how much you all liked the 'Throw Kindness Like confetti' quote wall art that I made for Miss Frugal's wall that I thought I'd make some motivational quote wall art for you too. I'll be honest though, I struggled to narrow the quotes down just four quotes as I do love a good motivational quote - I even have a private pinterest board … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {8th September 2017}….
1) This week I proved to the kids that homemade from scratch was better than shop bought packet mixes! We had a bit of a bake off and I'm pleased to say that they are completely on the side of homemade! There was no way that even Betty Crocker herself was going to beat my homemade chocolate chip cookies!2) I made a bath of my homemade tomato sauce last weekend and added some homegrown fresh basil to it. This might not sound like a huge achievement but it felt really domesticated and grown up to be able to use my own basil plant.I'll be sharing how I made the containers … [Read more...]
Five places to find money off coupons and vouchers….
Have you ever wondered where that person in front of you in the supermarket queue got all of the discount coupons and vouchers from?I always used to wonder where I could find all of these amazing money off coupons and vouchers so a while ago, I decided to find out....Ashleigh Moneysaver has a great section on her site which is pretty much jam packed with money off coupons and discount vouchers. Are Playground Politics really a thing?
Are playground politics really that big a deal? I don't think it is....As kids up and down the country settle back into school, many parents are already starting to post on social media about their experiences with the playground politics involving the 'school gate mafia' and the mums in their tight cliques who spend their time looking down their noses at everyone.I get that there'll always be the odd trouble causer or the person who you really can't get along with, that's just the way the world works but I wanted to share my experience with you so you might look at the groups you … [Read more...]
Some new additions to my wardrobe….
Honestly, I feel like I've had the craziest few months with everything that's been going on here! Between the Summer Holidays, work and all my Dad drama I genuinely haven't had chance to breathe since the middle of June which is when my Dad took a turn for the worse. With him being settled in his new home and the kids back at school, I'm hoping that a little bit of normality is going to return to our lives. As welcome as that would be though, it does mean that I now have a to-do list longer than the Great Wall of China to get through.Today's post has been at the top of my to-do list for … [Read more...]
15 of my favourite ways to use up Leftover Gammon….
Gammon is one of the few meats that Master Frugal enjoys so we generally have it at least once a week. This means that meals that use up leftover gammon are regular additions to our meal plan.I always cook my gammon in the slow cooker - sometimes just in a little water, sometimes in Dr Pepper and sometimes in diet coke but however I cook it, it's always a family favourite. I always have enough leftover gammon for at least one or two other meals but I try to vary them as much as I can so it doesn't feel like we're constantly eating gammon. ;-)Here's a few of the things I … [Read more...]
