This post is probably going to make me sound more than a little obsessed with freezer organisation but I'm not that bad, honestly. I just think that if you have an organised freezer then life is easier. ;-)I'm lucky enough to have three freezers - one as part of my fridge freezer, one under the counter freezer that we bought last year and one that we've just been given that lives in our garage. The one in the garage is pretty big and has a LOT of space over 5 biggish drawers and I was probably more excited than I should have been when it arrived a couple of weeks ago.I try to be quite … [Read more...]
Why you NEED to set realistic targets….
Have you made a New Years Resolution this year?If you have, then just have a think about it for a moment - have you set realistic targets for yourself or are your goals going to be a real stretch? Because if your resolution is too difficult and you struggle too much then you're going to get disheartened in no time at all and you'll just give up completely.I'm going to use the savings challenge that's doing the rounds at the moment as an example? You start in week one saving just £1 which is totally achievable but every week you're supposed to save an extra pound, so week two would be … [Read more...]

I'm in two minds about it because I've been off ill for so much of last year that I'm dreading it because there's going to be so much to catch up on but excited because I really do enjoy my job. … [Read more...]
Why 2016 made my children question the world we live in….
I've never been one to talk about politics here on my blog and I'm certainly not about to start today but certain events that have happened this year (both in the UK and the US) have led to some very challenging discussions with my children about the world around us right now and that's something that I kind of do want to talk about. It's hard to know just what to talk about with our children when there are so many big changes going on in the world. I think it's important that they have an understanding of what's going on in on in the world but even more important that they continue to feel … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {30 December 2016}….
1) We had gammon and lamb as our Christmas Dinner meats as we're not huge turkey fans here and we had plenty of leftovers as I'm sure we all did. ;-) We all had gammon sandwiches for lunch on Boxing Day with most of the gammon leftovers but the last bits were made into a quiche which we had for tea with leftover potatoes cooked in our Air Fryer with a little olive oil drizzled on them to crisp them up.My Dad bought us a huge leg of lamb so we had a LOT of leftovers from that to use up and I thought it would be a good start to my batch cooking mission to use it to make some meals to go … [Read more...]
