This Kinder Fudge recipe is brought to you courtesy of Master Frugal who sent me to the shop with a shopping list after telling me that he'd seen this recipe all over Tik Tok and Instagram so he was going to make it!It really is one of those recipes that tastes so good that it's impossible to believe that it was so simple to make! Master Frugal made this and cut it into slightly bigger pieces than I would have done as I'd have bagged it up into little bags to give as gifts to people for Christmas but his intention was to take it on a camp out with his friends so he went for … [Read more...]
How to clean out candle jars….
Today I'm going to show you how to clean out candle jars because I always feel like it's such a shame to throw away (or recycle) the empty jars when they can be so pretty. We've been lucky enough to go to the US a few times over the last couple of years and each time we go, Miss Frugal stocks up on her favourite Bath and Bodyworks candles which come in pretty jars with lids.Once she's used them, it feels like a waste to get rid of the pretty little candle jars so we're experts now in how to clean out a candle jar and we have them all over as storage jars now. I've just cleaned out … [Read more...]
The Best Way to Insure Your New Teen Driver….
Master Frugal is ready to start learning to drive which is causing me all kinds of anxiety as I'm a worrier and the thought of him driving an actual car terrifies me! His car is ready now (that's a whole other post waiting to happen but basically we bought an older car that needed fixing up) and he's ready to start his lessons. Once he's had a couple of lessons then I'm happy to take him out in his car and give him the chance to practice what he's learning in his lessons so this week has been all about getting his car taxed and tested and ready to go.I thought I'd share a … [Read more...]
Five Frugal Things we did this week {11 November 2022}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Hey! 👐1) I renewed my membership to Costco a couple of months ago after letting it lapse during COVID. I can't remember if I didn't renew because it was closed or because I forgot but either way, it ran out and I never got around to renewing it until this Summer. I did share a post about my experience of Costco shortly after I first joined listing … [Read more...]
Social Media made me buy it – The Crimpit….
Today, I'm sharing a little CrimpIt review with you all as it's a little gadget I bought recently and absolutely love. Does anyone else buy random things after seeing them advertised on Social Media?I realised a little while ago that I'm like an advertiser's dream right now as I've bought things recently that I may not have even known existed if it hadn't been for Social Media and its advertising algorithms that somehow know what I want before I even know myself. I started a cheeky little blog post series last year called 'Social Media made me buy it' but after a couple … [Read more...]
Is now the best time to buy a pre-loved tent?
Is this time of year the best time to buy a pre-loved tent? I think it is - especially as I just got a great deal on a tent myself on Facebook Marketplace.Next year's holiday is highly unlikely to be a trip abroad for us so after the success of this Summer's camping trip, I thought investing in a bigger tent might be worthwhile. The problem is that tents are actually super expensive and after several trips to Go Outdoors to get an idea of the kind of tent that would work for us, I realised that although camping would mean we could have a really good value getaway next Summer, … [Read more...]
