Last Wednesday we went along to the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena to watch the Newcastle leg of the current WWE Live Wrestlemania Revenge tour and we had a brilliant night!I don’t know what it is about the wrestling because personally, I don’t watch it on TV and I’m not interested in watching it at any other time but watching it live is a whole other matter. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that the WWE superstars are right there in front of me or if it’s the electric atmosphere that the crowd create or even the sheer amazement on Master Frugal’s face when the wrestlers are introduced that … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {22nd April 2016}….
1) We had a lovely tea last Saturday of fish, chips and mushy peas - made even lovelier by the fact that the whole meal cost less than £3 for us all which was a bargain for any meal, let alone the meal we had! The fish fillets were beautiful quality and were reduced from £3 for a pack of two to a bargain 42p. I bought three packs so we had a fillet and a half each with some homemade chips made in our airfryer using fry light spray (making them Slimming World Friendly) and some much mushy peas.2) I finally found a couple of ice cream Sundae glasses at the car boot sale last weekend and at … [Read more...]

Ten things your teenager absolutely does not need to take on holiday….
Packing for a long weekend away in sun is never easy but packing with a teenage girl takes it to a whole new level. Seriously, every time I look in the two bags we've put to one side for our packing, there's something else in there that I need to take out! Here's a few of the things we've argued about debated so far.... 1. A pillow Yes, an actual pillow has been taken out and put back in it's rightful place on her bed. 2. A blanket Taking up half the bag was a blanket which again, is now back on her bed! 3. Bath bombs Even if they made the journey in one piece and didn't crumble … [Read more...]
What does ‘being skint’ mean to you?
A couple of week's ago I read a post on one of the frugal living forums where a woman shared something that she thought was a bit of a frugal win. She used to shop at one of the big supermarkets but this particular week she had less money than usual (she used the words 'a bit skint') so she'd decided to pop to her local Aldi to do her shopping. She went on to proudly post a picture of her shopping trolley to show just how much shopping she'd managed to get in Aldi for about the same amount of money as she would usually have spent in her usual shop. Now I looked at her photo and thought … [Read more...]
Is it worth paying a bit more for Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Mascara….
Being frugal doesn't mean that I don't like nice things (although it does mean that I have some money spare to buy the nice things I like) but no matter how cheap or how expensive a purchase is, I like to know that it's going to do what it should do and that it's going to give me value for money. So every now and again, I thought I'd share with you something that I've bought that has cost me a little bit more than I would usually pay and let you know whether it turned out to be worth paying that bit more. I'm starting today with Benefit 'They're Real' mascara....Without exception, … [Read more...]
