I've consciously tried to slow life down for us all this week after the slightly frantic pace of the last few weeks because it's become more and more obvious just how tired the kids are right now - one night they both came in from school and one went for a lie down while the other fell asleep on the settee! It's only to be expected I guess as we've been doing so much with all of the end of term things going on and thinking about it, it seems worse than the last few years as they're in different schools now so we have two lots of everything to go to.I almost booked a cheeky week away to … [Read more...]
How to Survive Year 7! By someone who just did….
Earlier this week I challenged Miss Frugal to come up with a list of things that she thought would help someone who would be starting Year 7 in September and this is what she's come up with. Before you read them though, I'd just like to point out that this is based on her experience and I haven't changed any of them. The may be a few sneaky tips in there that break a few teeny tiny rules though. Obviously I don't condone the breaking of any school rules but I don't think the world will end if she checks her phone every now and again. She's clearly good at breaking the rules she does … [Read more...]

I haven't really had time to be frugal or otherwise this week as it's been another chaotic week for one reason or another but I'll try and see if I can think of five things.... My Week {12th July 2015}….
This last week has been the busiest week I can remember in a long time! Here's the highlights.... Tuesday Master Frugal's school had an open afternoon on Tuesday where parents were invited to go in and spend some time with the children at school. We sat together and looked through his workbooks and he proudly told me his levels which are amazing but I hate that children are told their levels in front of their classmates. They shouldn't feel like they're doing worse/better than others at such a young age in my opinion.I went straight from the open afternoon to Miss Frugal's end of … [Read more...]
