Miss Frugal has been taking more of an interest in blogging lately but rather than post on her own blog, she likes to share her ideas on here. She researches what she wants to make, makes me a little shopping list and then makes whatever it is, obviously being the child of a blogger she also knows to photograph every step of the way. ;-)So far she's made Shamrock Shakes and homemade Mint Lemonade and today she's turning her attention to ice lollies, specifically gummy bear ice lollies! She's made a little video to show you how to make these very delicious tasting lollies so I'll let her … [Read more...]
Homemade ginger and lime body scrub….
I first learnt how to make this a few years ago at a blogging event and I loved it so much that I ordered the ginger and lime essential oils from eBay I think it was as soon as I got home.I made it regularly after than but then my oils ran out and I never got around to buying more until recently when our local chemist had a selection on sale. I bought a couple and I'm going to make a batch as soon as I have more than two minutes to myself! It's a really lovely body scrub that not only smells great but the ginger and lime oils that I use also leave you feeling lovely and refreshed. Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {5th June 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. I've been wanting to visit the South Lakes Zoo for ages as we've heard some great things about it but it's a good few hours drive away from us so we've never actually made it there yet. Every now and again though I do have a quick search to see if there are any deals around to get the entry cheaper as that would help convince Mr Frugal that it would be worth the long drive. I managed to find a great deal this week which offers entry for the four of us plus some animal feed for each of us for the bargain price of £15 which seems like a great deal … [Read more...]
7 facts about money that will make your hair stand on end….
As a child, one of my favourite things to do was to count the money in my Dad's copper jar. I had a little system going on and I vividly remember putting all the copper into equal piles and then adding them up before transferring them into money bags ready to be paid in to the bank (there was no supermarket machines for this back then).I also remember the smell on my hands afterwards and my Dad telling me to go wash my hands - sometimes I did, sometimes I went upstairs and just ran the tap pretending to wash them (which took just as long as actually washing them if I recall).I can … [Read more...]
