Teaching Children about Money: When’s the right time to let your child have their own debit card?
Both of my children have received pocketmoney for a good few years now as I really believe that learning to manage their own pocketmoney is a great way to help them learn money management skills that will be invaluable when they’re older.We don’t have rules on what they have to do with their money as I’d rather they learned themselves so I don’t tell them what they can and can’t buy (within reason) and I don’t make them save a set amount out of their weekly allowance. Are you a camper or a glamper….
We went camping a few years ago and had an amazing weekend - we barbecued, played family rounders, had a couple of great trips out, had water fights and in general, had some good old fashioned family fun. It was so much fun and amazing value for money considering it cost less than £40 for all of us to over the long Bank Holiday weekend.The one thing I wasn't keen on though were the nights and I can honestly say that I got hardly any sleep between two wriggling children, a snoring husband whose snores seem to be magnified 10x in the great outdoors and various trips to the toilets … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {22nd May 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. We now have a mini herb garden - actually it's more of a pot but it's in the garden and it has three different herbs in it so we're calling it a garden. ;-)I think I've said before that we're not great with the actual growing of plants so when we saw that Morrisons had their herb plants on offer we bought Mint, Rosemary and Chives. Now we just have to keep them alive long enough to benefit from our £3 investment!2.
