Welcome to this week's #SaveMoneyMonday! In case you don't know what #SaveMoneyMonday is, it's my new weekly (ish) feature. Every Monday, I'm planning to feature one small way to save money in one way or another - whether it's getting something for nothing, sharing a money saving top tip or even a way to make some extra money. This week I'm thinking about the Summer Holidays as my two break up tomorrow so I thought we'd have a #SaveMoneyMonday Summer Holiday tip!I found this one when I was browsing for wallpaper for my kitchen wall which, despite it being something I was determined … [Read more...]
A bit of an update type post….
What a week!I haven't been around very much this last week as it's been absolute chaos here - there's so much happening with the last week couple of days of school approaching and I have so much to tell you all so I thought I'd do a bit of an update post!Let's start with Miss Frugal's news....New schoolAfter all my deliberations last year about whether or not I was doing the right thing sending Miss F to a different school to all of her friends, we had the nervously anticipated taster days last week and the good news is that she absolutely loves it. It's a great school and … [Read more...]
Scooter Love – 10 reasons to love your scooter….
Scooters are a big thing in our house right now! When the sun's out, you can be guaranteed that there'll be at least one (usually both) of my children playing out with their friends on their scooter and I regularly have to climb over a pile of scooters in the hallway to answer the door to more scooter riding children calling for mine. We even store the scooters in the back of the car so we always have them with us and we've taken them on every break away that we've had for the last year or so.I've just done a quick search in my photos for any that are scooter related and I found loads … [Read more...]
Summer Living Room Makeover….
We've been having a bit of a Summer makeover this weekend, updating the Living room with a few little bits and bobs to brighten it up for Summer and I'm really pleased with the results so I thought you might like to see them.I like to keep the decor itself quite neutral usually which allows me to change things around without a big redecorating project and without spending a lot. This weekend's change about included a new TV cabinet in the Living room (courtesy of my Dad's own latest redecorating project), a new rug (courtesy of The Rug Retailer). The carpet in the Living room is the … [Read more...]
Siblings – July….
It's time for my favourite post of the month again!I love writing my Siblings post every month as it makes me focus on the closeness of my children rather than on the niggly fights that they inevitably have. This month we've had lots of fun together including a weekend away with some lovely friends and lots of time outside away from all things electronic (although there's been plenty of that too with Minecraft and Plants Vs Zombies).See you next month for Summer Holiday Siblings. ;-) … [Read more...]
Sometimes….
You know what?Sometimes being a parent really sucks.Sometimes your child says something to you that breaks your heart, something that you really want to make right.Sometimes you can't make everything better for them, but sometimes you can. This weekend my gorgeous, kind, caring little boy told me he was sick of being ginger because people were mean to him about the colour of his hair. He even told me that he thought he would be bullied when he got to senior school because of it and his face was so sad that I wanted to cry for him. It's playing on his mind at the moment … [Read more...]
