I'm not a big believer is psychics and mediums but this week, I went along to a psychic night with a group of my friends - mainly just for a nosey to see what it was all about.I had no idea what to expect and beforehand I was about 50% skeptical and 50% terrified that the psychic (who shall remain un-named) would actually pick me out and give me a message from the other side!It didn't start well when I was told you weren't allowed to take your drinks in to the hall where it would be held and the psychic would 'prefer' that you didn't get up to go to the toilet or anything whilst he was … [Read more...]
My boy….
Whenever I get an idea for a post or I think of something I want to write about, I start a draft post with a title that, in theory, will remind me what it was that I was going to write when I look back at it at!Looking back at the many, many drafts that I've started, I found one called 'My little sensitive soul' from 2011!I remember exactly what I wanted to write about when I started that post which was prompted by a parents evening with Master Frugal's teacher. At the time, he was having difficulty keeping up with his classmates. He was way behind with his reading which in turn was … [Read more...]
This week’s meal plan and my homemade tomato sauce recipe….
So, I could be tempting fate here but for the first time since Christmas, we've had a good run of 5 days without illness (not including an abdominal migraine attack and a bit of man flu). Add to that the fact that it's half term and the weather forecast is looking OK and you have a very happy me!If you managed to read yesterday's post about Miss Frugal you'll know that I'm having to rethink the food that I include in my meal plans to make sure that there's no processed meat in anything I cook - which is a harder than it sounds! Quick teas like chicken nuggets or burgers are out unless I … [Read more...]
The processed meat trigger….
I think we've found the trigger (or one of them) for Miss Frugal's abdominal migraines! You might remember in January I wrote about the increasing pains that poor Miss Frugal got and I said we were trying to figure out what the trigger was (if there even was one). Someone, and I can't for the life of me remember who, said that one trigger may well be processed meat as something used in the process is a known trigger for some people. We cut it out of her diet completely just under three weeks ago and things have improved dramatically for her. We've only had one attack (I'll get to that … [Read more...]
Our week in pictures (and a few words) – Week 7….
Other than one abdominal migraine attack and a little bit of man flu, the house has been relatively germ free this week for the first time since Christmas! We're slowly catching up on all the sleep we've missed and I'm starting to catching up on everything that I've been putting off in favour of Nana naps and sofa snuggles - I may even tackle my in-box at some point over the weekend ;-)I'm afraid my photos from this week are still not very exciting though. We still haven't had the energy to actually get out and do much other than school and work - next week will be more interesting, I … [Read more...]
My 5 favourite frugal date night ideas….
I don't know about anyone else but the older my children get, the harder it is to find the time (or the energy) to have some quality alone time with Mr Frugal. We used to try and have two nights a week where it was early bed for the kids and we would do something together but now, they want to stay up later and join in with everything we do!I don't mind this really, I actually love our family game nights and movie nights that we can have now they're a bit older but it does mean that we have to be a bit more flexible with out date nights....Do Lunch together Every now and again, we … [Read more...]
