It's filled with ideas for frugal and fun ideas to make sure you get the most out of this year's Summer … [Read more...]
What does ‘Frugal’ mean to you…..
Being Frugal means different things to different people. Some people are frugal as a way of life, lots of people are frugal out of necessity and some are frugal to enable them to free up money for other things. We come under the third category, we save money where we can so that we have more spare money to spend on the children and to do fun things with them. I want them to have a happy childhood and whilst I'm fully aware that money certainly doesn't bring happiness, the money that we manage to save means that we can take them on holiday, go camping, buy them treats, have family days … [Read more...]
If I had a lot of money….
You know when your children are quiet for more than 15 minutes and you start to worry about what they're up to?Well yesterday, Miss Frugal got herself some paper and a pen and sat at the dining room table for almost an hour in silence. Planning our girly weekend….
Miss Frugal and I have decided to start a new family tradition - we're going to have a girls only weekend away together every year and leave the men at home (preferably with a list of jobs to do by the time we get home). We did it last year and had a great time so we're currently in the middle of planning our next trip.Last year's pictures - sorry about the pink, I was going through a pink phase I think ;-) She's started planning it already in the special notebook she's assigned to the task ;-)So far she's decided that London is the best place for us to go and she has a list of … [Read more...]
A Born Worrier….
I'm a worrier.I can't help it, I've worried since I was a little girl and I've had to really really try hard not to show the children how much I worry sometimes. When I was little, I used to worry about the kitchen cupboards falling off the walls in the kitchen if my Dad bought too many tins!I think poor Master Frugal has inherited my worry gene as he often worries about little things and has a bit of a tendency to blow things out of proprotion in his head until he gets himself all wound up.To help him deal with his worries, I bought him a set of Guatamalan Worry Dolls for … [Read more...]
