After school tonight Miss Frugal came home and asked if we could tidy her room together, which is a mini miracle in itself although it isn't the reason for the title of the post. The reason for my pride this evening are these few surprise discoveries (please bear in mind that I am a stationary-aholic myself): 8 pencil cases filled with all sorts of lovely pens, pencils and other stationery - I had no idea she had so many! A special drawer dedicated to notebooks - 26 in total. A pencil case filled with buttons that she's found when we're out and about. And then there's … [Read more...]
Family Friendly Frugal Meals – Homemade Fishcakes….
I went to the supermarket this afternoon with my little shopping list having planned our meals for this coming week but when I saw the overflowing reduced section I had a complete rethink and changed my plan completely based on the bargains I got. Let this be a lesson to you all….
Since I started blogging my obsession with taking photos of everything has got worse - I'm rarely without a camera these days and my poor kids are used to me taking photos of everything that we do or making them do something again as I didn't get a good picture the first time. Even the poor puppy is used to me pointing the camera at him everytime he does something cute, although he's not as willing to do something again for me just for the sake of a good picture!I take so many photos that I rarely have time to organise them into any sort of order, all I do is transfer them to my laptop … [Read more...]
Change the way you shop – savings at the supermarket….
Tonight I got some very odd looks while I was doing my shopping - It may have been because my trolley was filled with this little lot:It's for a community project at work where we're donating toiletries to some local homeless charities. We've all been asked to take in a few things and encouraged to buy value products so we get more for our money, which ultimately means that we're donating more to the charities. I bought 5 cans of shaving foam, 10 tubes of toothpaste, 5 packs of 4 toothbrushes, 8 bottles of deodorant and 8 packs of 10 razors - all things we've been told are … [Read more...]
Good News ….
Thank you so much for your comments and messages wishing us well for Miss Frugal's visit to the hospital this morning. All of your positive vibes and good luck worked - the Dr told us today that he is certain that she does not have a tumour. He said that she is suffering from childhood pre migraine aura without the migraine element and confirmed that she is experiencing abdominal migraines, both of which *may* effect her more as she gets older, especially when she hits puberty. Obviously this isn't brilliant but compared to what we'd prepared for, it is the best news we've ever … [Read more...]
