Tomorrow is the day we take Miss Frugal to the hospital to see the brain surgeon. We've waited for months for the appointment after being told that the brain scan had ruled out most things but there was a possibility that she had a very small slow growing tumour that would not have shown on the scan due to it's size. The fact we've had such a long wait isn't necessarily a good sign as some people have said to me because the tumour (if there is one) was so small at the time of the scan that they would need to leave it for a period for it to become detectable if you see what I mean. She … [Read more...]

Dear ChildrenDo not read until you are all growed up ;-)Remember when you were little and I took you swimming? Well I think you're old enough now to know my secret I really hate swimming more than anything in the world. Half Term at the National Railway Museum in York….
If you're looking for a day out this half term, I can strongly recommend the National Railway Museum in York. We went on Sunday and had a fantastic day.The theme for this week is Big Fun with Little Trains and there's loads going on. We had a go on the indoor pedal trains, the crafts table, the minature railway, the simulator ride and had a ride on the steam engine. We also took the road train into York city centre and spent at least 40 minutes trying to build a Meccano aeroplane that did not turn out like we wanted it to, no matter how much the lovely man tried to help us … [Read more...]
Homemade Snowman Soup {with a free printable tag}….
Snowman soup is one of my favourite things about Christmas! We've been making our version of snowman soup, both as a treat for us and as a little homemade gift for family and friends, ever since the kids were very little and it's become one of our favourite family traditions.I'm a fan of making snowman soup as a gift for people because (a) it doesn't cost much to make, (b) it's fun and a little bit unusual and most importantly of all, (c) it's really easy to make yet it doesn't have to look homemade.I do love the idea of homemade Christmas gifts but I must admit that when I make … [Read more...]
The one where I share too much information….

However, as my *friend* was still coughing, her daughter thought she … [Read more...]
