The kids have been back at school for almost two weeks now and we're settling down into a bit of a routine. As the kids get older, there's more activities that they want to join in with which means that some nights, I'm just a glorified taxi driver ;-) I'm not complaining really as they have chosen the clubs they want to go to and they really enjoy going to them, it just makes it a bit difficult for us to have a 'proper' meal some nights - I'll be making a lot of this weeks meals in the slow cooker so I can prepare it all in before I go to work in the morning. This is next week's menu … [Read more...]
The Gallery – A Happy Memory
I love the theme of this week's Gallery - A Happy Memory. I've just spent a lovely hour with Miss Frugal going through our photos, we're so lucky that we've managed to make so many happy memories together and we had a real problem choosing just one photo but in the end we went for this one. It was taken at Disneyland Paris two years ago and I smile everytime I remember our long weekend there. It was perfect, really magical with not a tear or tantrum in sight for the whole weekend. Everythig about the trip was great, from the journey and the hotel to the rides and meeting the characters … [Read more...]
Anyone for Cake….
Don't forget it's National Cupcake Week this week - it'd be rude not to join in ;-) I'll be sharing my recipe for a Red Velvet Giant Cupcake later this week and we'll be attempting to make some lovely pink girlie cupcakes for Miss Frugal's birthday on Friday.... What will you be doing? … [Read more...]
Trauma at the Skate Park….
This Summer was the Summer of the Scooter - my two played out on theirs every minute that they could, as did all the other kids in the neighbourhood who all have the same type of scooter incidentally). They put them in the boot of the car and took them everywhere we went and got them out at every opportunity for a quick scoot around and whenever we had some sun, we packed them up in the car and went to play with them at the beach as the kids love scooting down the ramp that the fishing boats use to get down to the beach. So you can see why I thought that a trip to the local skate park … [Read more...]
Things I want you to know about Daddy….
In years to come, my children can learn lots about me by reading this blog. I've shared a lot on here about myself in the last couple of years - everything from childhood memories to greatest fears along with lots of other things along the way but I don't really share much about Mr Frugal on here although he does pop up from time to time ;-) So today, I'm going to share some things I want them to know about their Dad. Not the obvious things like the fact that he loves football and his computer but the random important things that if I don't tell them, no-one will....To this day he … [Read more...]
Dragons Den – The Frugal Family Edition….
Miss Frugal loves to watch Dragons Den with me and always has her own opinions on whether the dragons should or shouldn't invest in a business. She's usually pretty sure that she has an idea that the Dragons would love to invest in so I decided to see what she could come up with and while we were at it, Master Frugal and I had a go aswell. Invention OneI love this one. The black square is our kitchen window and it's connected to a box on top of the Guinea Pig hutch with a little chute that we use to pour food into the box - this will only need to be done about once every four weeks … [Read more...]
