Last week's meal plan went OK but I had to nip to the shop twice midweek - once for dog food and the second time for baking supplies for the bake sale at work that I promised I'd cook for. Both times I bought a few extras which meant I ended the week over budget but we're getting closer to it so I'm not too dissappointed ;-) Here's this weeks meal plan:Saturday: Shepherds PieSunday: Sunday Lunch - Chicken, roasties, veg and Yorkshire puddingsMonday: Chicken and mushroom pasta (see below) using up the leftover chicken from Sunday.Tuesday: Macaroni cheeseWednesday: … [Read more...]

Party Politics….
It's OK this isn't a political post really, although I would like to say thank you to our local Labour candidate who nearly ran me off the road on Thursday when he was concentrating more on his loundspeaker thing than his driving! This is about a different kind of party politics - birthday parties....Earlier this week Miss Frugal told me about a party one of her friends was having that she hadn't been invited to. New Discoveries….
Miss Frugal has just come running downstairs rather excitedly, interrupting the lovely little snooze I was having, to share something with me....'Mam, I'm getting boobs, proper ones with big nipples - look, you can feel them if you want' After declining her lovely offer, I was then subjected to discussing which of her boobs were bigger and how big boobs may grow and she was thrilled to know that one day hers might be the same size as mine! Not one to be left out, Master Frugal then joined in with our boob discussion by declaring that his boobs were growing too and he had a pair of man … [Read more...]

Bank Holiday Bargains and a Finished Project….
Seeing as Miss Frugal's hasn't got home from last nights sleepover yet, we decided to take Master Frugal to the car boot sale this afternoon to buy him some treats to cheer him up a bit and we couldn't have picked a better day to go - loads of stalls and not many visitors We got two 'awesome' Spiderman cars for him for 50p each, Spiderman on a bike (that lights up, makes noise AND moves) for 50p, a batman on a bike and a batman moster truck for 50p, a bag full of knights (for the Knights castle we bought a few weeks ago) for £1.00 and a free pirates ship as the man wasn't wanting to take … [Read more...]
