I want what every parent wants - for my children to grow up feeling safe and loved but also confident and independent. I think I've mastered the safe and loved bit but as a natural born worrier, I have to try really hard to encourage the kids to be confident and independent which is really difficult for me. I sent Miss Frugal to bed this morning after a quiet game of Lego Star Wars somehow ended up with Master Frugal being stabbed with a mini Lego lightsaber and screaming so loud that you would have thought that his whole arm had been chopped off!About five minutes later, I got a text from Miss Frugal (yes, she has her own phone) telling me to check my e mails....On her way upstairs, she'd sneakily grabbed her laptop (which she's normally only allowed to use in the same room as me) and was now apologising by e mail. I was having a lovely browse through the cookbooks in Tesco yesterday trying to decide whether to buy the Baking Made Easy cookbook or the Jamie Oliver 30 Minute Meals one, when I was rudely interupted by Miss Frugal asking if she could have something she'd found. Quick First Aid test for you.....
