I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be to manage Christmas when you're separated or divorced and have children to take into account. I thought I'd share a couple of ideas on how to best cope with the situation in case you're struggling right now to plan a Christmas that will work for everyone.I'm definitely going to start with the obvious one here but always, always try and remember that your children should always be your top priority when it comes to making a plan for Christmas. I know that we all like to think that we would absolutely put any issues aside but I know … [Read more...]
Roll a gingerbread man family game….
This super cute little roll a gingerbread game is going to give you and your family lots of fun over Christmas this year. 😁I'm all about spending time with the kids at Christmas so I'm always on the lookout for fun things for us to do together and this roll a gingerbread family game is fun, quick to play, and cute enough that even my teenagers will play it with me although it's definitely better suited to younger kids if you ask me!I used to play a similar game to this when I was little where you had to make a beetle rather than a gingerbread man by rolling a dice. They saved me again a couple … [Read more...]

The year before last, I spent the week before Christmas in New York with Miss Frugal and had the best time! The reality was a bit different from the dream though so I thought I'd share the reality behind some of my photos. From the day I booked our Christmas in New York break everyone I told was been super jealous, telling me how much they'd love to visit New York at Christmas time and how magical it was going to be. I researched, I planned and I got so excited about it that I genuinely was like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa to visit! We knew it was going to be … [Read more...]
Elf on a Shelf Secret Message {Free Printable Secret Code Game}….
This Elf on a Shelf secret message is exactly what you need to share a message from Santa with your little ones!Over the years, we've loved our annual visit from our Elf on the Shelf although our lovely little Jingle hasn't been as naughty over the last few years as the kids have got older and they've inevitably had less interest in his antics. And then last year poor Jingle met an unfortunate end when he met Monty, our cheeky puppy! I can't even tell you how traumatic it was to come home and find an arm in the hall, two legs in the kitchen and the rest of him in Monty's bed! … [Read more...]
