I've always been a bit photo obsessed, I think it's the idea of capturing a moment forever that I love so much. So to ask me to choose my favourite one is just plain cruel, however, it had to be done as that's the theme for this week's Gallery.I have literally thousands of photo's and my favourite changes constantly but my current favourite is this one:A picture of the beautiful sky we could see from our house last week.... I took it using my Canon EOS 1000D on the night portrait setting - one of these days I'll venture out into the big bad world of the manual settings ;-)If you … [Read more...]
Detention….
When I picked Miss Frugal up from school today her teacher asked if she could have a word with me.... Uh Oh! She said that she had put Miss Frugal in the Behaviour Book and given her detention for tomorrow lunchtime after she had got in trouble today. Apparently, my darling little girl kicked a boy on his shin. Hard. I don't doubt for one minute that it was an accident and she's explained to me that she was playing chase with them and the boy caught her and she just kicked out at him. I believe her completely as I know from watching her with play with her friends at school and at … [Read more...]
The Quick Crafts Club….
"Hi, my name is Cass and I am creatively challenged" Surely, I'm not the only mum in the world who is not very good at crafts, I make the effort and we actually do quite a lot of crafty things but not many of them turn out like they were supposed to. My favourite crafts are the ones that take hardly any preparation and as little mess as possible so I thought I would start a Quick Craft Club to share my mess free easy kids crafts with you each week. If you've got any ideas or would like me to feature you in the next Quick Craft Club then leave a link to your post in the comments … [Read more...]
Warning, Cute Photo Alert….
We've had a bit of an ongoing argument in the Frugal house - about the sort of dog we wanted. In fact, it's been going on for so long that I'd just about given up hope of us ever getting a dog. Mr Frugal wants a German Shepherd or a Labrador and I want a Bichon Frise ;-) He wants a 'manly' dog that he won't feel embarassed about walking and I want a cute little dog that doesn't molt everywhere. The problem was that neither of us wanted to give in.... Until last night when for some reason, he changed his mind and said that if I really wanted one, I could have one!To say I was stunned … [Read more...]
Would you buy presents off Ebay….
I know I'm early with the Christmas post but it's because I have to start my Christmas planning earlier than usual. You see, Christmas used to be paid for using my quarterly bonus from work which I got in November every year but this year (due to a promotion at work) my bonus is now paid half yearly which means no Christmas bonus ;-(So far I've been getting a few bits and bobs here and there when I've been out and about shopping but today I remembered I had a bit of money in my Paypal account so I thought I'd pop on to Ebay and see if there were any bargains to be had. Able to steer clear … [Read more...]
Exploding Cupboards and Ice Cream Cupcakes….
Do anyone else's kitchen cupboards look like a corner shop had exploded in them? Mine are in a right mess so my mission today is to sort them out and find ways to use up all the odd bits and bobs that I seem to have accrued. The first thing I came across was half a packet of those flat ice cream cones and I was tempted to just throw them out as we've had them for ages but then I remembered seeing some cupcakes on sale somehere that were baked in these type of cones so.... I though I would have a go.I used my own version of a red velvet cupcake mix which Miss Frugal thought was really … [Read more...]
