Miss Frugal came home yesterday dying to try out the recipe she had learned that day in her 'fun with food' class at school. She's really enjoying the classes and after her Cartwheel Sandwiches turned out to be such a success last week, I decided to let her show us how to make pasta salad by cooking it for us all for tea. First of all you cook and cool some pasta and put it into a big bowl. Chop up some cucumber,tomato and red onion and add them to the bowl. I have a bit of a love / hate feeling about this weeks Gallery theme - 'Can you tell what it is yet?' When I read what Tara had in mind this week I was really excited (yes, I am sad lol). I picked up my camera and waited for inspiration to hit me and I waited and waited.... Cartwheel Sandwiches….
Miss Frugal is now officially learning to cook (so she tells me) in a weekly 'Fun with Food' class that she's taking at school. Apparently she had the chance to grow stuff, sew stuff, cut stuff or cook stuff so she chose to cook stuff cos she is already good at that (her words not mine ;-)) For the last few weeks she has been coming home with some rather bizarre recipes and this week was no exception! Cheats Pizza (and other stuff)….
I can't believe that on possibly the nicest day of the year so far, Mr Frugal has been at work all day and I feel like crap! The poor kids have been stuck at home all day and are now so full of energy they are driving me up the wall ;-) I wouldn't mind but I had loads of stuff to do today as well. At least I got one thing off my list done, I took Master Frugal to the hairdressers to get his hair cut this morning. Prized Possessions….
I've just read a brilliant post by Frugal Queen about a photograph that she loves so much that she would run back into a burning house to save it. Frugal Queen asks - If you could only take one thing (apart from the kids) from a burning house, what would it be? I've given this some very serious consideration ;-) and realised that I can't choose just one bag from my handbag collection, that would just be unfair to the others, I also realise that I probably can manage without my hair straighteners and my juicy tubes for a short time and that my Smeg fridge probably isn't a saveable object … [Read more...]
