Aaagh I really can't believe what Miss Frugal has just said to me. We just popped to the shop and she announced that she didn't want any sweets as she was on a diet! She's 7!!!!! I was a bit shocked to say the least so we came and dropped the shopping off and went for a nice walk - just the two of us. We had a good talk and it turns out that she doesn't think that she's fat or that she needs to lose weight, she's just learning a lot about healthy eating at school and she wants to eat more healthily at home. Don't get me wrong, we do eat quite healthily (well, the kids do anyway) and we … [Read more...]
Did you used to do this…?
I came home from work the other day to a beautiful present - a home made bottle of perfume!Remember when you were little and you thought that if you put petals in a bottle of water it made perfume? Someone (not me) has shared this with Miss Frugal and we now have five bottles of the stuff sitting outside our back door. Anybody want one? … [Read more...]
I’m back….
What with half term last week and the stressful week I've had this week I've not been around much. It's been horrible at work lately as there've been loads of rumours flying round about some big announcement that was coming, I usually try not to get caught up in rumours at work as it's a bit like chinese whispers but this time I just couldn't help it. Anyway, the announcement was made yesterday and while it does affect a lot of my colleagues, I am completely unaffected which is good for me but obviously the people who are affected are upset which makes me sad too. I'm off today to I'm … [Read more...]

I've consulted the artist and she's happy for anyone to purchase her artwork but apparently it will set you back 68,000 pence! Doesn't look like I'll be making much in commissions from this, does it?Just one word of … [Read more...]
An alternative use for a wooden spoon….
We were going to make sock puppets today but we had a bit of a disaster when we tried to stick the bits on to the sock. Never one to give up at the first hurdle, we decided to make wooden spoon puppets instead. We didn't use anything special, just some pipecleaners and sparkly bits from our craft box. Predictably, Miss Frugal made a princess and Master Frugal made a scary dragon. Then we made the simplest theatre you've ever seen - Miss Frugal made a sign and stuck it to the front of a box we picked up when we went shopping. It definitely wasn't an oscar winning performance - the … [Read more...]
