I love weekends!Today's been another lovely day, although it didn't exactly go according to plan! We were originally going to go have a paddle in the sea and an ice cream followed by a nice afternoon in the garden with a BBQ but the weather was a bit on the chilly side so we ended up having a quick walk on the beach followed by a visit to the boot sale and a movie afternoon at home. The kids had a ride on the donkeys at the beach, Miss Frugal loves anything horsey and has had a few horseriding lessons so she was over the moon to be having a ride on a donkey. She chose … [Read more...]
Ice-creams and Vegetables….
We've had a lovely day today in the sunshine,a nice relaxing morning followed by a trip to the park, a visit to the beach and topped off with ice creams. It might be a good idea here to point out that he trapped his middle finger in a gate at the park which is why he has it stuck up....The picture quality isn't too good as we were using Mr Frugal's I phone but they're actually better quality than I thought they would be. We've also finally got around to planting our vegetable pots - we have carrots, brocolli and tomatoes although we're probably going to get a few more tomorrow if we … [Read more...]

Who needs Dolmio….
In an effort to be even more of a perfect Domestic Goddess, I have just made my own tomato sauce, from scratch, without any help, on my own! It's super easy and cheap! I'm not good with technical terms but I just put some chopped onions and chopped garlic in a pan with a big glug of olive oil and cooked them until the onions were soft. I admit that I had some help with the stirring:Next comes the tomato bit, but seeing as Master Frugal doesn't like tomatoes he left this bit to his big sister. She added two tins of chopped tomatoes to the mixture and poured sprinkled in some … [Read more...]
The Clampets have left the building….
How typical is this, after a weekend of rain and hailstones the sun finally decides to pay us a visit on the day that Mr Frugal goes back to work! The weather was so bad that I didn't get chance to do my back garden over the weekend as planned so I thought I would have a go this afternoon while the sun is shining.I've already tidied the bins up and sorted the recycling boxes out, they are now hiding around the side of the house which I am sure Mr Frugal will have a whinge about as its about 10 foot further to walk to put the rubbish in the bin. The view outside my patio … [Read more...]
Teddy Bear’s Picnic….
Despite the fact that it's not exactly picnic weather outside, Miss Frugal has decided to have a teddy bears picnic in the back garden. She's out there with her favourite teddy bears and some chocolate spread sandwiches trying to look like she's not freezing cold. I think she's trying to catch the attention of the little girl who lives out the back of us but she's having no luck so far bless her.My sensible little boy has decided to have his picnic indoors as apparently his teddies wanted to watch Ben 10 they ate their sandwiches. … [Read more...]
