I have to admit my least favourite activity with the kids is painting, however, this just happens to be their favourite thing to do so yesterday I gave in and we painted. I bought three tubs of paint - red, yellow and blue and gave them a little tray (tupperware lid) to mix any other colours up. Master Frugal was very impressed when he managed to make green all by himself ;-)All was going well until we decided to try some handpainting, this is the bit that I hate!We made some lovely pictures and at least I have got the obligatory school holidays painting session … [Read more...]
Isn’t Good Friday Supposed to be a Good Day….
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh. Why does this always happen on Bank Holidays - I look forward to them and the kids wake up in a grouchy mood that lasts all day! They have taken it in turns to be pains in the arse naughty all day.Mr Frugal was on nights last night so he slept till about one. We played speed stacking for a while, played on the Wii and watched the Monsters Vs Aliens film (yes, again!) and generally argued our way through the morning. As soon as he got up we went to the beach to play with the nerf thing that Master Frugal got for his birthday last week. What's a nerf you might say - … [Read more...]
A Slightly Optimistic World Record Attempt….
It's a Mummy's Life has started The Little Film Club - Each week she will share a prompt to inspire our video and we can all share our efforts on a Friday. I am definitely up for this as I don't think I am ready for a full on real vlog but I do like making videos of the kids. This week's theme is happiness or optimism so I tried to get the kids to let me film them dancing and singing happily to Cheryl Cole this morning but every time they heard the beep of the Flipcam they stopped so I gave up.After we gave up on the happy video we had fun with one of the presents Master … [Read more...]

Easter Holiday Letters….

Under no circumstances will every day be a pyjama day - especially when we are going out. Oh yes and when I'm at work, please don't tell Daddy that you are dressed when you have actually just … [Read more...]
Stage 2 of the Garden Transformation….
Last July I blogged about my back garden and our attempts at making our rocky patch of garden into a nice family garden. You can find the before picture here. Unfortunately, the after pictures are not much better yet!The grass that we grew is all patchy and a bit bumpy and we still don't have a fence at the back, although we do have one at each side now.The border area that I set aside for growing vegetables is all overgrown and I still haven't got around to planting anything yet. Also because it's winter, my bins and recycling boxes are right in front of my patio doors - … [Read more...]
