If you've never heard of a parmo then I'm about to blow your mind with this super easy chicken parmo recipe...I'm pretty sure that about 95% of you won't have a clue what a chicken parmo even is so I'd best start by filling you in. Wikipedia describes it better than I can though: The parmo, or Teesside Parmesan, is a dish originating in Middlesbrough, Teesside, and a popular item of take-away food in North East England. It consists of a breaded cutlet of chicken or pork topped with a white béchamel sauce and cheese, usually cheddar cheese. … [Read more...]

Five Frugal Things we did this week {13 September 2019}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, as always feel that I should say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons. ;-)1) We won the lottery! It wasn't a huge amount but it was £135 which is … [Read more...]

Essential Oil Mermaid Bath Bombs….
I'm loving sharing my little DIY projects with you lately and I've been dying to share the essential oil mermaid bath bombs with you since Miss Frugal made them a few weeks ago.Miss Frugal went through a bit of a phase where she'd spend most of her pocket money in Lush on those expensive bath bombs that they sell for anywhere between £3 and £5!I have a rule where I try not to interfere with what the kids want to spend their own money on because I don't think they'll learn if they're simply doing what I tell them to do when it comes to money. Does that make sense? So even … [Read more...]

Chocolate Packed Lunch Cake (between 9p and 11p per slice)….
I've shared a couple of versions of my packed lunch cake over the years but I thought I'd share the cake I've just made with you as it was not only super tasty but at 11p per slice, it's really good value.I first started making this when my two were in junior school as the rules guidelines set by the school at that time were that chocolate and bought cakes were frowned upon but a little piece of homemade cake was acceptable if it was part of a healthy and nutritious packed lunch. I wanted to make something that was a small-ish portion size, that could be cooked in bulk at the … [Read more...]
