Mario Kart DS is driving me mad….
As you may remember, Master Frugal got a Nintendo DS for Christmas. He absolutely loves it and has hardly put it down since he unwrapped it. The fact that he is playing on his DS has also renewed Miss Frugal's enthusiasm for hers and they have discovered that as they both have Mario Kart they can play against each other, even when they are in different rooms!Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh - I am hearing the tune from the game in my sleep. Literally. I got up for a wee in the night and I could have sworn that I could hear the tune, I even went into both of their bedrooms to check but they were both fast … [Read more...]

Cotton Wool Snowman….
I have been promising the kids for ages that we will make cotton wool snowmen and I finally ran out of excuses today so we now have three cotton wool snowmen sat on our living room window...They're simple but messy to make. Homemade Mint Crisps….
The jury is still out on my homemade mint crisps. They were fun to make and tasted nice but I don't think you could bring them out at the end of a dinner party and wow your guests (not that I ever have dinner parties lol). They were so simple to make, all you need is a biggish bar of dark chocolate and a packet of extra strong mints. Using a rolling pin bash the extra strong mints into little pieces, I left a few larger bits to make it more crunchy - Don't do this as Mr Frugal nearly lost his tooth biting into one! Then melt the chocolate in the microwave (or the old fashioned way if you are … [Read more...]
Make a Handy Tree….
We have just spent the last hour or so drawing round our hands on green paper and cutting out the shapes. Why? So we could make a hand print Christmas tree of course! All you do, when you have cut out about 3 million hand prints, is glue them to a piece of card in the shape of a Christmas tree. Add a star at the top and voila, a handy tree to hang. Now on to the cotton wool snowmen!!! … [Read more...]
