Today I'm sharing my new favourite recipe - Garlic roasted cherry tomatoes!I briefly mentioned in last Friday's Five Frugal Things post that I was going to share this recipe for garlic roasted cherry tomatoes with you today and I actually had two emails over the weekend asking for a sneak peek which was lovely and I was happy to share as the recipe was needed for a batch cooking session and a BBQ so today would have obviously been a bit late for both ladies. ;-)I think I said in my post that the tasty garlic roasted cherry tomatoes would be great on a pizza, amazing stirred through … [Read more...]

Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {22 June 2018}….
Every week I share five frugal things that I've done during that week just to show you that the small things you do all add up to a great frugal lifestyle where you can learn to live a fabulously frugal life. Before I start though, I do want to say that being frugal to me is about getting the best value for our money - it's not about doing without for us or about not having nice things. We all have different financial situations and we're all frugal for different reasons - we're frugal so we can afford to do nice things together.WARNING: It's a waffley one today - sorry in … [Read more...]
#LoveYourLeftovers- Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Baked Potatoes….
I've shared my recipe for slow cooker pulled pork a good five and a half years ago now and over the years, it's become a firm family favourite that regularly features on our meal plan.Last Friday, I bought a big piece of pork shoulder from Morrisons and made a big batch of slow cooker pulled pork which we had for tea in yellow stickered brioche buns (from M&S no less) with some Potato wedges from the freezer.I wasn't around for tea on Saturday night but I did leave instructions for Mr Frugal to make a batch of homemade pizza dough to make pizza for tea, which he did after much … [Read more...]
A bored jar for teenagers….
Over the years, we've had various different bored jars that have kept the kids occupied during the long Summer Holidays but this year, I'm very aware that, at 13 and 15, the kids are too old for the bored jars we've made and used so much in the past. That's why I thought I'd do an updated version with a bored jar for teenagers!I absolutely HATE the words "I'm bored' and ever since the kids were old enough to say them, I've tried to be prepared with ways to keep them occupied. My favourite things to do this have without question been our bored jars and we've had a few over … [Read more...]

June Intentions….
June is a hugely busy month for me so I'm taking a few minutes today to write down the things I want to achieve because I have a feeling if I don't have something down in writing, I'll be sat here in a month's time having achieved nothing I needed to do!Financial IntentionsAs we're finally debt free, I want to be good and start overpaying our mortgage by as much as we can. I've got a standing order set up for payday to overpay every month but I also plan to pay any extra money in when I can - something that I'm imagining won't happen this month thanks to our busy month. We're … [Read more...]
