I do love a good rummage around a charity shop and have only recently discovered that lots of my favourite ones actually have online charity shops so today, I'm sharing some of my favourites with you. You'll know how much I love my pre-loved bargains if you regularly read this blog as I often share a bargain in my weekly five frugal things posts and more recently, there's my monthly pre-loved bargain series. With everything that's been going on in the world, I've missed my regular rummages through the charity shops near me so you can imagine how excites I was when I discovered … [Read more...]
Homemade Baby Milestone Cards
These super cute homemade baby milestone cards are the cutest way to record your baby's first year!I don't remember baby milestone cards being a thing when my two were little but I'm pretty sure if they had been then I would have been all over them as I would have loved to have recorded their little milestones! I don't even think I did a proper baby book although I do have books that I made them both when they were toddlers that are filled with little funny stories about them which they love to look through every now and again.I think the cards are such a good idea but … [Read more...]
No council tax this month or next?
Unless you opt to pay your council tax over twelve months rather than the usual ten, February and March are the months of the year when you don't have to pay. That means there's no council tax to pay this month or next month for many of us. What are you planning to use your 'free' council tax money for?I love the months where we don't pay council tax because the amount we pay seems ridiculously high - we actually pay £169 a month over the ten months which means that we have a nice little chunk of money to play with over the two months where we don't pay it.The … [Read more...]
Super Easy Waffle Recipe {Suitable for the oven or a wafflemaker}….
I don't think I've ever shared my super easy waffle recipe with you, have I? Waffles are perfect weekend for a weekend brunch but when I first got my waffle maker, lots of the recipes I could find online needed fancy ingredients like buttermilk (that's fancy to us 😂 ) which was never going to happen in this house. My super easy waffle recipe is pretty basic in comparison to many that you'll find online but to me, that's the beauty of it - it's so simple and uses things that most of us have in the house so you can just make it whenever you feel like … [Read more...]
Monthly Favourites – January 2021….
This is my first monthly favourites post for a long time but I was having a think recently about what I wanted my blog to look like this year and one of the first things that came to mind was that I missed how blogging used to be. As much as I know that life changes and things move on, I did want to bring back a few of the things I used to do on here so I thought I'd start by bringing my monthly favourites posts back for 2021!January 2021 / Monthly Favourites Film/TV I used to struggle to share something for this category because I hardly watch any TV as I'd much rather be … [Read more...]
Homemade Toilet Bombs….
I've been making homemade toilet bombs for years now and seeing as I've just made a batch today, I thought I'd share how I make them.I love homemade cleaning recipes and I think these little toilet bombs were actually my first little DIY cleaning project. They worked really well so I often make a batch to keep in the main bathroom - especially since I discovered that Wilko do boxes of citric acid and baking soda quite cheaply! I used to buy Citric Acid from Amazon which usually cost more than double the boxes I can get in Wilko. There's a couple of reasons I like these … [Read more...]
