I'm not going to lie, Fathers Day has been the furthest thing from my mind this week and in typical me fashion, I now have one day to sort a present. I also have two uncooperative children who have other plans for today meaning that a homemade gift is out of the question unless I make it myself and that's kind of not the point is it?So, while they're both out and about today I've asked them to get their Dad something they know he'll like to present to him tomorrow. This could turn out disastrously wrong or it could be quite sweet but I'll let you know either way.We don't really go … [Read more...]

No Bake Unicorn Fudge….
This super easy to make no bake unicorn fudge is a real showstopper!I woke up early this morning feeling refreshed after a good night's sleep so I got up and while everyone else was still asleep, I cleaned the kitchen, put some washing on, had a cup of tea and made a batch of unicorn fudge. You know, the usual Sunday morning activities. ;-)This recipe for Unicorn Fudge is great to make with the kids and would be brilliant as a homemade present or as a cute addition to a party buffet as it tastes great but looks even better. Five Frugal Things I’ve done this week {2nd June 2017}….
1) We renewed our family railcard earlier in the week when we decided at the last minute to travel to Edinburgh airport by train rather than drive. The family railcard took the price of the rail travel down from £220 to £120 so it was definitely a worthwhile purchase, especially considering we need to travel by rail to Gatwick in October. We love travelling by train as it's so much more relaxing than driving and we have much more space - and we don't have to stop every half an hour when one of us needs a wee!2) I had a lovely wander around the charity shops last weekend and I … [Read more...]
Ten genius ideas to bulk out your meals and save money….
Do you know why people used to eat Yorkshire Puddings? It was because they were cheap to make and very filling so they were traditionally served as a starter before the main meal was served to take the edge of any hunger and to fill people up before the main meal, traditionally a roast beef dinner, was served. We always had our Yorkshire Puddings before our Sunday Dinner when I was growing up and even now, when we go to my Dad's for dinner, we have our Yorkshires before the rest of the meal which never fails to amuse the kids. In theory, because we've had our Yorkshire Puddings before … [Read more...]
