{I published this back in 2015 originally but I've discovered some brilliant frugal blogs lately that I know you'll love as much as I do so I thought I'd start to update it. Once I started, the list grew from about 10 to 30 so if I were you, I'd go grab a cuppa and take a bit of time to have a good read through them all to see if you find a few new favourites. If you don't have time now then you could always Pin it for later. ;-) } There's nothing I love more than sitting down with a cup of tea and a jaffa cake and getting the chance to read some of my favourite blogs in peace. … [Read more...]

Stop spiders the natural way….
I know there's nothing to be scared of about spiders and I try to be brave for the sake of the kids as I don't want them to grow up scared of them but when I see one of the little eight legged creatures in the house, I can't rest until it's gone.Mr Frugal is great at rescuing them and freeing them in the garden, far far away from the door and I have an amazing next door neighbour who fills in for him when he's not here but I'll be honest, I'd rather not see them at all. This time of year is particularly challenging as they all seem to want to come inside and make their way to whichever … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {7th October 2016}….
1) It's October and we haven't had the heating on yet - that's mostly been because the weather seems to have been a bit milder than usual but there have been a few days where I've considered it. I hate having the heating on because our house is quite a warm house anyway and it feels quite stuffy when the heating is on so I try to put it off as long as I can. I've added a nice fluffy blanket to the bottom of everyone's bed but I can't see that they've been used yet.2) Did you see my meal plan earlier this week? It was a total triumph for my batch cooking as I've had a super easy week for … [Read more...]

What we’re eating this week – the one with all the batch cooking….
Tomorrow's the day that I'm going into hospital for my operation - it's nothing huge and nothing too dramatic but I'm probably not going to feel much like cooking for the next few days. I've had lots of offers of help from some very lovely people but I think that my batch cooking has paid off as I've just written my meal plan and it's mostly made up of things in the freezer that just need defrosting and re-heating!I know I haven't shared my meal plans on here for a while but today seems like a good one to share with you....Monday - This week's only faffy tea is Chicken Souvlaki kebabs … [Read more...]
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve done this week {30th September 2016}….
1) What would you do with some reduced sausages, a green pepper that's seen better days and a packed of butternut squash soup mix that was reduced to 5p? I made a non Slimming World version of my Slimming World quiche and it was amazing. I added some chives from our herb pot, some cheese and a mix of eggs and milk and cooked it in the oven until it was set!2) Also on my reduced shopping trip I bought the ingredients for a lovely casserole for a fraction of the normal price. The only problem was that I already had tea cooking away in the slow cooker for that night and it really needed … [Read more...]
