Miss Frugal has been taking more of an interest in blogging lately but rather than post on her own blog, she likes to share her ideas on here. She researches what she wants to make, makes me a little shopping list and then makes whatever it is, obviously being the child of a blogger she also knows to photograph every step of the way. ;-)So far she's made Shamrock Shakes and homemade Mint Lemonade and today she's turning her attention to ice lollies, specifically gummy bear ice lollies! She's made a little video to show you how to make these very delicious tasting lollies so I'll let her … [Read more...]

Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {29th May 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. Contrary to popular belief, I'm planning on making more than just mojitos with the mint in my new little herb garden (actually mojitos was my plan but Miss Frugal had other ideas). So this week, we've made mint lemonade which I'll be sharing with you at some point over the next week and after that was a success we even made blueberry version. It tasted delicious - even more so because we made it with our own mint!2. The kids and Mr Frugal headed off to Wembley on Monday to watch their beloved Boro play in the Championship play off. They … [Read more...]
25 Amazingly Delicious Cakes to WOW people with….
Who doesn't love cake? The official dictionary definition of cake is that it's 'a sweet food made with a mixture of flour, eggs, fat and sugar' which, although true, doesn't seem anywhere near enough of a definition to do justice to some of the wonderful creations that I see almost every time I fire up my laptop. So today I'm celebrating cake by sharing some of my favourite cakes that I've seen online recently....The Crazy Kitchen - Bailey's Chocolate LasagneThe Crazy Kitchen - 5 layer Sprinkle Covered Ombre CakeYellow Days - Cherry and Almond CakesActually Mummy - … [Read more...]
Garlic and Lemon Chicken and 10 other super easy ‘dump’ recipe ideas {Batch Cooking} {Slow Cooker}….
Do you have any idea what a 'dump' recipe is?I didn't until I started researching batch cooking recipes but now, thanks to Pinterest, I can tell you that a dump recipe is a recipe that you put together in a zip-lock bag (or other container) and put in the freezer before cooking. You then get it out the night before you're ready to cook it so it's defrosted in time for when you're ready to cook it and because you've already prepared the ingredients, you don't have to do anything else other then cook it either in the slow cooker or in the oven. Lemon and Garlic Chicken 'Dump' Recipe 3 … [Read more...]
A beginners guide to batch cooking – 10 top tips to help you get started…..
Today's post is dedicated to my new favourite thing - Batch Cooking.Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to be one of those die-hard batch cooking people who spend a whole day every month batch cooking meals to last them for the next four weeks but I do want to take what I already do one step further now that I have a little more freezer space than I had before.I'm going to consciously cook more foods that I can double up on so that I can gradually build up a stock of meals in the freezer and I'm hoping to gradually up my game a bit and find more recipes that are freezer friendly and … [Read more...]
What we’re eating this week {6th April 2015}….
We're in week two of the Easter Holidays here and as I predicted last week, the school holidays played havoc with the meals I had planned. We didn't even have the traditional Easter Sunday roast as we were having too much fun in the garden to come in and make it. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that it was replaced by a picnic lunch and fish finger sandwiches for tea. ;-)Anyway, let's see if we can stick to this week's plan.... MondayI'm trying to make homemade Doner Kebab for tea tonight which could go either way. If it works, I'll share the recipe and if it doesn't, then it will … [Read more...]
