I bet you all do lots of frugal money saving things on a daily basis without even thinking about it! They're just things that make complete sense to you and you do them without even thinking about it aren't they? But sometimes, until someone points something out to you, it doesn't even occur to you so I thought I'd do a post each week to share some of the frugal things I've done that week with you all. Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. I've redecorated Master Frugal's bedroom on a budget with a little inspiration from Pinterest and Facebook, specifically the Homeclick Facebook … [Read more...]

Oh You Pretty Things – Christmas Presents….
The lovely Sonia and Mary have started a lovely new linky called Oh You Pretty Things which is all about sharing the stories behind your treasures. There's a theme each week and this week, it's all about Christmas presents but before I tell you about my favourite Christmas presents, I want to tell you a bit more about December.I had a slightly stressful month as we had a few worrying weeks waiting for some test results for Master Frugal. Beaten egg or milk to brush the pastry with.First of all, you need puff pastry … [Read more...]

Frugal Family Traditions….
A couple of years ago, when I was asked if we had any family Christmas traditions, I said no because I didn’t really think the things we did were traditions – they’re just small things we do every year to make Christmas that bit more magical to us as a family. As I was saying it, I realised that what we’re doing is making new family traditions, traditions that I hope the kids will want to continue as they get older and more importantly, will do with their own children in years to come.My favourite tradition is probably making a video for each of the kids using Portable North Pole although … [Read more...]
