I just realised that I wrote a gift guide for tween and teen girls (based on Miss Frugal) and one for boys aged 9 ish (based on Master Frugal) but I haven’t done anything for Dads.
Dads are the hardest people to buy for if you ask me – my Dad gets a bottle of port and a big slab of blue stilton every year without fail as that’s all he wants and as boring as it may be, at least I know he’ll enjoy it.
Mr Frugal isn’t as easy to buy for though – he doesn’t like experience days or things like that, he’s not big on clothes (unless it’s a football shirt), he likes his music but usually buys albums to listen to on his phone, he reads on his Kindle and buys computer games he wants when they come out so there’s not much left to buy when Christmas rolls around.
So, seeing as we’ve spent ages looking for some presents for him, I thought I’d share them with you all in case you need a little inspiration….
Bluetooth talking gloves – A bit gimmicky but actually quite a good idea when you actually try them if you can get over the funny looks you get when you’re walking down the street using them. Basically, you put them on and sync them to your phone and then if someone rings you when you’re out, you just press the button on the wrist, place the thumb near your ear and your little finger to your mouth and talk away. They’re quite good quality soundwise and they’re touchscreen enabled too so you don’t have to take them off to use your phone. We were sent a pair of these to try and I sneakily tried them before Christmas so Mr Frugal can have them all wrapped up on Christmas morning – I hope he likes them as much as I do. 😉
Homemade Sweetie Hamper – Last year we filled a box with random sweets that we knew Mr Frugal would love. It cost around five pounds if I remember rightly and he loved it.
Master Frugal has chosen one of these mini air hockey tables to buy his Dad this year. We bought ours for £10 from John Lewis but you can get them all over at this time of year. Tesco even have a desktop pool game for £5 if you think your man would like pool more.
Miss Frugal is making a book of vouchers to give him which includes things like washing the pots, cleaning the car etc and Master Frugal has made him a calendar for his computer desk which together with the annual aftershave and the packet of walnut whips should just about do him!
