If you caught Sunday’s post then you’ll know that I’ve gone all old school this week and am blogging daily to share with you what I’ve been up to that day seeing as I have a week off work with LOTS of things on the t0-do list!
Are you bored with my daily updates yet? 😂
My mission today was to get the wing shot pictures that I made the other day up on the wall.
You wouldn’t think it would be that big a deal would you but I wanted to hang them halfway up my stairs on the wall but I knew it was going to be a struggle to get them up as high as I wanted them on the stairs where there’s no space for a chair or the stepladders.
I ended up doing something that I absolutely do NOT recommend…
I made a balancing step out of some cookbooks and a crate of Pepsi Max.
I should have probably but them somewhere else but my stairs are the perfect place for these pictures as they twist around and the back wall is crying out for a feature like this. They’re right in front of you when you’re going up or downstairs and they can be seen from both the downstairs hall and the upstairs landing so, to me, it was worth the extra effort to get them where I wanted them.
It took over an hour just to get the row of three at the top up and another half an hour to get the bottom three up. Then there was another forty minutes to faff and get them all in line as best I could.
I think you can see from the two photos above what my stairs are like with the twist and them going back on themselves so hopefully, you get why it was important to me to put them on that wall. And just look at them, memories of six super special holidays that I’m going to see every time I go up and downstairs.
I couldn’t be bothered to faff too much with tea after all that so I got Master Frugal to make some pizza dough in the breadmaker and we just had homemade pizza for tea. I got some of my homemade arrabbiata sauce out of the freezer last night with the intention of making a spicy tomato prawn pasta but instead, I just blended it and used that as the base instead.
I’ve also made a batch of toilet bombs which are currently drying out in the kitchen…
I had a go at making a honey and lavender lip scrub which I’ve been thinking about for ages (inspired by my amazing spicy gingerbread lip scrub) but it really didn’t turn out like I wanted to and it was actually quite unpleasant tasting on my lips when I tested it. I was really disappointed with it so I got rid of it and started again and made a honey and lemon version instead which I’m happier with but I want to see what it’s like tomorrow when I go back to it.
The honey and lavender should have worked as a combination but I got it really wrong somehow – I might go back and try again tomorrow though. I’ll let you know how it goes…
