I love my little car but it’s not the most comfortable for travelling long distances in and the boot space isn’t great so last month, when we went on our family trip to Wales we decided against taking our car and instead, we were very grateful to be loaned a Kia Sorrento for the week.
The Kia Sorrento is a seven seater beauty and I’m not sure who was more excited to come home to see it parked on our drive – Mr Frugal couldn’t wait to get his hands on the steering wheel, the kids couldn’t wait to try out the heated seats and I was just happy to have the space to pack as much as I wanted for our trip.
The day after it was delivered, I temporarily lost Miss Frugal only to find her sat in the back of the Kia with her loom bands because ‘it was more comfortable than the settee and she could concentrate better sat in the car’!
We were planning a lot of driving during the course of the week as we were stopping over at Manchester on the way to Wales and Leicester on the way home which meant that we’d be away from home for almost a week – can you imagine how much stuff we had that we wanted to take with us? Whatever you think if you triple it then you’re probably in the right area!
The boot was large enough to cope marvellously with everything we took, which included wellies, scooters, footballs, enough snacks and drinks to last us the whole week, board games, enough clothes for the week for us and then some and it all fit in there fine.
The Kia Sorrento was perfect for comfort while travelling and I loved the space that the kids had in the back. They had heated seats, control of their electric windows and even a USB charger for their electronics which was a lifesaver on such a long journey.
The car was great to drive and more economical on petrol than I thought it would be to be honest and the sat nav in the car made life so much easier – I don’t think we could have managed without it to be honest. My favourite feature by far was the parking cameras which helped us get into some spots that we wouldn’t have even contemplated without it.
The Kia Sorrento is filled with features that make it a brilliant family car – USB chargers, heated seats, individual heating controls, Bluetooth, Sat Nav, Parking sensors and much, much more. Add this to the obvious benefit of the space and comfort that you get with this car and it really is the ideal car for any family. For us, it’s made us consider a Kia for our next car which will be in the not too distant future I fear. We’re going to have a look at smaller models like the Kia Ceed because after driving this, we’re convinced that we want our next car to be a Kia.
