Mondays used to be #MoneyMakeover day on here but I think I’ve covered most things that you need to do to give your finances a decent overhaul and to be honest, I wanted to do something that would give me a chance to share some small tips with you so here we are – #SaveMoneyMonday.
Each week #SaveMoneyMonday is going to feature one small way to save money in some form or another whether it’s a freebie, a money saving top tip or a way to make some money and I’m starting this week with a reminder to you to always make the most of the rewards that some companies want to give you for being a loyal customer.
I wrote a while ago about how to make the most of your store loyalty cards but it’s not just shops who want to reward you for your custom, or as the cynic in me would say – trying to make sure you don’t look around for better deals!
O2 are a prime example of this and if you’re an O2 customer then their Priority app is brilliant for daft little freebies. It’s described on their site as an app that will give you exclusive offers, tickets and experiences and whilst it is good for the bigger items like pre-sales for music events, it’s the smaller things that I like it for.
At the moment they have an offer where you can get a free bag of chocolate footballs just for showing the voucher screen on your phone in WHSmiths and I get that this isn’t earth shattering money saving, it is something for free and lots of us probably walk past a WHSmiths at least once a week. They also have a deal on buy one ticket and get one free for Tom Jones in Hyde Park next month, which is a great deal if you were thinking of going anyway.
Like I say, I know it’s not mega money saving at it’s best but free chocolate tastes better than chocolate you’ve had to pay for and it’s not like you have to jump through hoops to get it is it?
And it’s not just O2 customers who get great rewards! If you’re an Orange / T Mobile or EE customer then you can get two for one tickets on a Wednesday just by texting FILM to 241. They’ll text you a code which you can show at the cinema to get your reduced entry. Considering just how expensive the cinema is these days that’s a massive saving!
Even Vodafone are getting in on the act with their Freedom Rewardz site which give you something that I can’t see as you need to be a Vodafone customer to log in. 😉
So, your mission today is to find out what rewards you can get from your mobile phone provider…. And then take full advantage of it!
