I'm back today with the last of my #BetterWithLeerdammer sandwich ideas and I've gone all traditional with a cheese and pickle sandwich made with a bloomer loaf. All I did was slice up a bloomer loaf (on an angle so the slices were bigger), butter it, add a few slices of cheese and a big dollop of pickle. I added a salad and some sweet pepper relish to serve but they're just window dressing really. The main event is the sandwich and just plain old cheese and pickle is delicious. This is probably my favourite sandwich of the week although Mr Frugal is a fan of the tuna … [Read more...]

Gorgeous cheese and pesto toasted baguette….
I wan't sure about the recipe I had in mind to share with you for today's #BetterWithLeerdammer sandwich idea but basically, I just served it to Mr Frugal for his tea and he loved it which is high praise from someone who's quite fussy with his food normally!Today's cheese and pesto toasted baguette is the simplest sandwich ever but it tastes delicious! All I did was cut a baguette in half and spread a layer of pesto on the bread before adding two slices of Leerdammer Light. I popped it under the grill until the cheese had melted and then spooned a little more pesto on the top before … [Read more...]

I’ve gotten out of this habit a little bit while the kids have been off school, probably due to our complete lack of routine at the moment. I’m at the stage … [Read more...]
28 inspirational quotes to inspire our children with….
A few months ago Miss Frugal and I were planning to make some wall art for her new improved bedroom and we were searching Pinterest for a quote that she wanted to use for it. She kept going back to the same one but I was enjoying myself that much looking at quotes that I made her keep looking in case she found another one she liked just as much.We found lots that she loved but none that she connected with in the way she had with the quote she had chosen. I asked her why she liked the quote she'd chosen so much and she said it was because it encouraged her to try new things. We stopped … [Read more...]
Five Frugal things I’ve done this week to save money {31st July 2015}….
Five frugal things I've done this week: 1. It's actually because, whilst our trip was far from frugal because of the things we did while we were away, it was more frugal than you might think all things considered. Firstly, we saved before we went so we could do everything we knew the kids would want to do and then on the morning we went, we withdrew the cash … [Read more...]
