Well, I didn’t have a great first week at all!
Remember last week when I said that I was supposed to wait for the OK from my specialist to start Slimming World but I’d decided to start anyway as I felt ready? Well, it turns out I really should have waited!
I started to feel a bit ‘Meh’ (that’s the technical term ;-)) after a few days and by day 4 I really wasn’t feeling great at all. I put it down to a bit of a tummy bug at first but the thought occurred to me that it might be the food I was eating so halfway through day 4 I went back to eating normally and the following day I was feeling better again.
I have no idea what the actual cause of the pain was but when I saw the specialist on Wednesday this week he did say that he felt Slimming World may not be the best option for me based on the fact that it’s actually very easy to make food choices that aren’t the best for me right now with the types of food that are classed as free. He said that eating too many eggs or too much pasta/potatoes wouldn’t do me any good at all right now and looking back on the four days I followed the diet, I did eat more than I usually would of these foods.
Saying that, I don’t think I over indulged in any of them and I did eat plenty of other ‘good’ foods too so I’m not entirely sure if it was what I was eating or if I had a bit of a tummy bug. I’m going to give it another go next week though and just be super careful with which free foods I eat because the benefits of losing the weight would be huge as long as I do it the right way without suffering along the way!
Slimming World is a great way to lose weight if it’s done right so wish me luck with attempt number 2 next week.
