We’re more than half way through the Summer Holidays now and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably running out of ideas for keeping the kids occupied.
It turns out that even though I had a list quite literally as long as my arm filled with things that we could do together, we have run out of ideas for things to do (other than the days out that we have planned in) with nearly three weeks left to go.
On the plus side, we’ve had an amazing three weeks so far – we’ve done so much fun stuff and spent so much time together and we can’t wait to see what fun the next few weeks will bring us….
But, I’ve had to restock my things we can do/make/play list and I thought you might like to know where I’ve got most of my ideas from 😉
Crafty fun – Red Ted Art
It’s impossible to read Maggy’s blog and not find something crafty to make together!
General ‘boredom busting’ ideas – Sainsbury’s Bumper Book of Summer
We were sent this book a few weeks ago and we love it as it’s filled with ideas for everything from crafts to cooking and there’s even some potion making in there which Miss Frugal has added to the new list!
Outdoor Fun – The National Trust’s 50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4
We’re not planning on doing all 50 things but we can definitely fit a few of them in before we go back to school I think.
Cooking with Kids – Rainy Day Mum
I know I’ve said this before but I think it’s really important to encourage children to enjoy cooking and to do that, you have to get them interested in what they’re cooking which is why I love the ideas here.
Science Fun – Science Sparks
Both of my children love science, as most kids probably will. To them it’s about the fun result of whatever experiment we’re doing but to me, it’s about the learning along the way. Win Win!
And if you still need ideas – you could always steal some from Jen’s bucket list or have a look at the Netmums site 😉
Don’t forget to check out my 80 ideas for your bored jar as there’s loads of little ideas there.
Oh, and you can also click on the School Holiday Ideas cupcake over there <<<< for loads more posts about what you could be doing….
