I realised a while ago that I really missed the personal side of blogging, the posts where I literally just used to sit down and tell you what we’ve been up to so (and I have no idea if this is going to work) I thought we’d try something new. 😂.
I thought I’d sit down on a Sunday morning and have a bit of a catch up – what’s happened that week, anything exciting coming up and maybe even a quick round-up of blog posts from my other blogs.
I have no idea if I have an interesting enough life to make every week worth reading but let’s see, shall we?
Miss Frugal passed her driving theory test this week – no thanks to me! Her test was initially booked for the day after Lockdown 2.0 started so it was automatically postponed and a new date was rebooked for her which we thought was last Tuesday. She asked me on Sunday night, around 9 pm, to find out what time her appointment was for so she could make a plan so I logged on to the .gov.UK website for her and discovered that there was no test booked for her.
It had definitely been there before so I was super confused until I looked in the ‘test history’ section where it turned out I’d got my dates mixed up and her test had been for the week before. I panicked as she’s been waiting for this for so long knowing that once she’d passed this, she could finally book her actual test so before I broke the news, I had a look for the next available date for a test in our area and it wasn’t until September!
I got a bit frantic at the point and started to look further afield but there was absolutely nothing any sooner no matter how far away I tried so I had to own up. She came and sat next to me and we went back through the list of test centres near to us and again expanded to test centres within 50 miles of where we live and just as we were about to give up, a cancellation appeared for 8 am the next morning in Harrogate which is an hours drive from us.
It was 10 pm by that point so I have absolutely no idea how it just popped up but it wasn’t there the first time we checked so we booked it knowing that it was a 6.30 am start in the morning to get there which isn’t the best way to start a week.
Luckily she passed with flying colours despite the drama so we can now book her actual test which would be amazing if I could find one before December!
Poor Miss Frugal has had a busy week this week as she then had her first COVID jab which was pretty drama-filled and involved the staff at the centre getting in touch with me to go get her as they wouldn’t let her leave on her own. She bled quite a lot after the injection and then managed to have a bit of a funny turn which led to a stint in the medics room for her. They were so lovely to her though and gave her a Twix and a drink while she waited for me and by the time I got there, she’d improved enough that they let her leave.
She slept pretty much all day (with me watching her like a hawk) and her arm was dead enough the next day that she struggled to even put her hair in a ponytail but she’s much better now thankfully although I have no idea how I’m going to get her back for her second appointment after this.
I’m still trying to lose weight and get fitter but this last month has been a bit slow so Monday morning, I gave myself a shake and promised myself that I’d have a super good week to give myself a boost. I weighed myself yesterday and was over the moon to see a 3lb loss and now feel really motivated again!
I have been neglecting my exercise bike a bit lately but yesterday I got right back into that too and did 26km on there in two sessions. The first was 18km which genuinely nearly killed me yesterday – maybe because I haven’t done that much on there for the last couple of weeks or it might be that it was a hot day but whatever it was, I genuinely couldn’t have done another metre.
I was a bit disappointed in myself as I was regularly doing more than that this time last month so I had an hour’s break and then jumped back on to get myself up to 20km for the day and ended up doing another 8km so even though it wasn’t all in one session, I felt like I’d redeemed myself.
Not much else has happened to me this week except for my second COVID jab which was uneventful in comparison to Miss Frugal’s experience. I was super sleepy for a couple of days but aside from that, all was good.
I did wake up yesterday morning with an idea for a blog post that within half an hour had turned into a whole new blog. I mean, it’s not like I have three blogs already or anything… 😂
I’m going to add a quick round-up of the posts I’ve shared across each of my blogs at the end of this post every week because I’m hoping to get more of a routine of posting on them again. I just need to be more organised and spend less time on Instagram and Tik Tok. 😇
Easy Crab, Lemon and Chilli Spaghetti
I love my little travel blog but there’s been a distinct lack of travel lately which has meant I don’t have too much to post about on there at the moment.
Sunday Snapshot – Lake Como
There’s very little going on over on my Christmas blog at the moment but I am starting to think about doing a weekly or fortnightly post on there to try and build up the posts on there ready for this year’s festive season.
What’s your Christmas budget?
And the newest addition to my little blog family is my little work in progress all about how you can make money from blogging – whether you’re new to blogging or just ready to turn a hobby into an income.
So, you want to make money from blogging?
What should I blog about?

So that pretty much sums up everything I wanted to share this week – I hope you all have a fab week and look forward to catching up the same time next week!
