We’ve got into a bit of a habit lately of going for a walk on a Sunday afternoon after our tea.
We try to go somewhere different each week and usually head wherever we’re going in the car rather than just walk him close to home like we do that every other night. Tonight, we had a lovely walk around the Riverside Football Stadium and along the banks of the River Tees.
We had a lovely walk around the stadium and as always, the kids took the football and had a good kick about in the area around the stadium which is always deserted when we visit on a Sunday evening! After we’d walked around the stadium we had a wander down the banks of the River Tees past the giant Tenemos sculpture which I somehow didn’t take a photo of.
It’s lovely to spend a little time together at the end of what’s usually a busy weekend for everyone and it’s definitely a tradition we’ll be continuing with.
I realised part way through our little walk that Mr Frugal was wearing his new trainers for the first time so I thought I’d take a few snaps of them as he was very kindly sent them by Millet Sports.
He normally only wears Adidas trainers so he wasn’t sure how he was going to feel about wearing Nike trainers for the first time in years (did I mention that he’s a creature of habit?) but he’s been converted by this pair which he says are so much more comfortable than he expected them to be.
These are the shoes he’s ‘modelling’ for you if you like the look of them – Nike Air Max Sequent 2 Running Shoes. The website blurb on the shoes make them sound very technical for a pair of trainers:
Leading the way in style and performance, the Nike Air Max Sequent 2 Running shoes feature a Max Air unit in the heel for responsive cushioning upon the strike of each step. Articulated grooves in the forefoot allow flexibility for fast movement. A breathable mesh upper keeps feet cool and comfortable.
– Max Air heel unit
– Breathable mesh upper
– Articulated forefoot grooves
– Injected phylon midsole
Personally, I’m not too sure about the specifications and the techie stuff but I can say that they look lovely and I’m reliably informed that they’re comfortable which to me, is the most important bits of information about any shoe! The price point is higher than I would like but actually less than he paid for his last pair of trainers as he justifies the price by saying that he doesn’t go for designer clothes or anything like that and he wears his trainers enough to get his money’s worth. I can’t argue with that, can I?
